Ok, so the Packers sucked in their first pre-season game.... |
|
I really think Brett is going down this year.....I kinda thought that last year, but he managed to stay alive, although the 29 int's weren't that pretty. I do think this is it for him.....and good ol' Mr. Rogers is going to take over for Brett like Brett took over for the Magic Man. I hope I'm wrong.

Even as a Viking fan, I don't want to see Favre go down in a blaze of crappiness, but that is what is going to happen. The fact that the Packers did NOTHING to shore up the O-line is probably one of the biggest reasons for that. If I were a defensive coordinator getting ready to play the Pack, I would have a clear theme: blitz. That O-line sucks. A lot.

2. The Offensive line is in deep deep trouble |
|
and consequently, so is the running game, as well as Favre. But Rogers looked ok as did Jennings. And on defense, watch my man Abdul Hodge. They have to get him in there a lot. Maybe move Barnett outside and put Hodge in the middle?

3. He should've retired last year. |
|
I don't blame him for not wanting that horrible playoff game against the Vikings in '04 to be the one he ended on, but last season showed that game wasn't a fluke. As it was, he could've gone out with a win and the congratulations of the coach he had his greatest success with. Now it's getting to the point of being just sad.

4. Nick Barnett was asked about that this week |
|
He was very agitated by the question and basically said he didn't want to do it because he would lose a ton of money in free agency if he did. He said that the Middle LB gets the highest stat counts and that will determine his worth as a FA.
I also don't know if Hodge is ready to be calling the defense. He is great against the run but he still looks a little lost during pass plays.

5. I was on the east side of the Mississippi and saw part of this game |
|
and there was nothing to see, it was bad even for pre-season.
We can see how good the Vikings do this year as the pre-season kicks off against Oakland on ESPN tonight.

my Vikes will eat the Packers as a snack this year. If nothing changes, there is no way the O-Line of the Packers can do a thing against the D of the Vikings. Of course it always changes when they play because they are always good games. Mostly.
