Rate this fantasy football team
I've always been a huge football fan, but this is the first year I am playing fantasy fooball because a friend of mine who is not much of a fan got involved in an office fantasy football league and told me that if I help him draft and run the team during the season, he would put up the money and we would split anything we win at the end of the season.

So I agreed, mostly because of the challenge aspect, but also because of the $200 I can win. The league consists of eight teams and the rosters consist of 18 players. Wide receivers in this league are valued as high as running backs due to the scoring system.

Pos. Name Team Bye

QB Tom Brady NEP 6
QB Aaron Brooks OAK 3
RB Larry Johnson KCC 3
RB Carnell Williams TBB 4
RB Domanick Davis HOU (I regret drafting this guy because he has since been put on IR) 5

1. Uh...how many players are there in your league?
You got Larry Johnson, Cadillac Williams, Steve Smith AND Tom Brady? How many players are there in your league? 4?

That's nuts. Those guys were all gone by the end of the 2nd round in my league. The First three went in the first round (though I was surprised Smith went that early).

2. There are eight people in the league
We had the first round draft pick, which means we had the eighth pick of the second round, first pick of the third round, eighth pick of the fourth round, etc.

We picked Larry Johnson in the first round (1st overall), Steve Smith in second round (16th overall), Carnell Williams in the third round (17th overall) and Tom Brady in the fourth round (32nd overall).

Below are the rosters of all eight teams, including our team which is listed first. How do you think we compare to those other teams? How many people are in your league?

3. Well depends on the setup
If it's a league where you have

1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 RB/WR, 1 TE, 1 PK, 1 DT

I'd be happy with your team, though I'd drop davis. He's on IR now, so drop him and pick up the best you can. Maybe the handcuff for Johnson just in case. You don't want to be out that pick, so getting his backup now might be smart. Honestly I think your team looks like one of the best. YOu got lucky getting Steve Smith and Cadillac Williams when you did. It's pretty amazing Williams lasted until the end of the 2nd. You look to be in good shape.

We have 8 in our league. Interestingly enough I also took Davis late in the draft just in case he turned out to be ok. I dumped him and handcuffed my #1 back in Barber by picking up Brian Jacobs. I also have Williams and Evans.

QB- Marc Bulger, Donovan McNabb
RB- Tiki Barber, Cadillac Williams, Brian Westbrook, Laurence Maroney, Joseph Addai, Brian Jacobs
WR- Reggie Wayne, Roy Williams, Lee Evans, Donte Stallworth
TE- Tony Gonzalez
PK- L. Tynes
D- Pittsburgh
D- Indianapolis

4. I plan on dropping Davis and picking up Rod Smith, WR of the Broncos
Edited on Tue Sep-05-06 08:06 PM by RagingInMiami
Who surpisingly was not drafted. I would like to improve the WR corps because the league gives us the option of playing 4 WRs at a time, something I did not learn until towards the end of the draft.

We can use either one of following starting lineups:

1 QB 3 RB 3 WR 1 TE 1 PK 1 DT
1 QB 2 RB 4 WR 1 TE 1 PK 1 DT

And here is the scoring system:

1 pt / 10 yards Rushing/Receiving TD = 6
1 pt / 20 yards Passing TD = 4 INT = -1
1 pt / Reception, Decimal Scoring

5. Brooks and Davis
Is there anyway you can get another player sice Davis out for the year? Also, Aaron Brooks?! Hmmmm see if you can offload him as well. Otherwise, with Brady (despite being a metrosexual repuke) as your QB, you have a nice collection of RBs and receivers. The Colts and Dolphin DTs were GOOD pckups :-) But defiitely ask for a compensation pick regarding Davis.

6. I released Davis and picked up Rod Smith, Denver, WR
I'm taking a chance with Brooks, but that's because I'm a Raider fan and also because I know his last season with the Saints was affected greatly by Hurricane Katrina.

But I don't plan to start him until I've seen him play a few games. I also have my eyes on QB Jon Kitna of the Detroit Lions as a back-up because he was not drafted.
