any views on Bob Knights latest episode?

1. Overblown but still wrong

I am waiting for a player to snap on Knight and pull a Spreewell. That would of course likely lead to an all out brawl.

ESPN was showing clips of coaches getting physical with players and they showed Beamer of VaTech slap a wide receiver in his helmet. You can see the disbelief on the players face and he actually mouths "oh no you didn't" as he walks away from the coach as the coach futiley tries to get his attention back.

2. Overblown

I do not see that what he did is all that bad or wrong. It seems to me that he barely hit the kid. I think it is just Knight's reputation causing people to make a big deal about this.

3. He did nothing wrong.

He just tried to fire up and motivate his players.


Knight's far from a saint but in this case, he did nothing wrong.

The story was blown up.

Anyone else but Bobby Knight does that, it is not a story

6. If you were

at work, and your boss was "speaking" to you .... and he/she didn't think you were making appropriate eye contact, and so they smacked you .... would that be okay?

On the other hand, to be honest, in between the last two rounds of my oldest brother's last pro fight, he was starting to zone out. So I slapped him. Got his attention, and he went out to win the last round and the fight.
