Poll question: Who will Bo watch the game with? |
|
Since I have heard conflicting guesses, I thought I'd put it to a vote.

2. He and Paul Ells will have a nice chat |
|
Paul was the Voice of the Razorbacks for 28 years and was killed in a car wreck this past summer. Talk about watching the game from a luxury Box.

3. Oh, that's right. That was so sad, I remember your post. |

Well, then vote for Ufer; it was he who coined the term "MEEEEEEEECHIGAN!"
He used to call Bo General Bo Patton Schembechler, and he kept an old bicycle horn in the booth that he'd honk when Michigan scored.

7. I'm rooting for UM for several reasons, one of which is that LisaM is rooting for them. |
|
So, I'll vote for Ufer in this too.

6. Bo and Woody were buds |
|
Bo worked for Woody at OSU, I believe. They were ultra-competitive but they didn't hate each other (they might have both hated the rest of the world, though).
Bo had his first heart attack in his early forties. He had a few more after that. He had two quadruple bypasses in his lifetime. He recently had a combo defibrillator/pacemaker put in his chest. He expired shortly after doing his TV show, the same show that sent him to the hospital earlier this season (and resulted in the implantation of the previously mentioned heart device).
He had spoken to the Michigan team the day before he died, so either they will play with an enormous motivation to defeat the Buckeyes, or they will play flat from grief.
Rest in peace, old Wolverine.

9. You're right! I didn't know that. |
|
You never hear about him, so I just assumed he had passed on. But, it doesn't seem that he has.

11. he's pretty low profile, living in Iowa City |
|
goes to Hawkeye games every year, although that might change I saw his house for sale the other week.
When I saw his name on your poll it kind of freaked me out I work on his yard once in a while and he's a super guy! Would have felt terrible not knowing he had gone.

10. I don't think Bo and Woody ended up in the same place. |
|
My dad was an OSU fan who liked Bo a lot more than he liked Woody. His family thought of Woody Hayes as the dumb wanker who stole Paul Brown's job.
