1. Tom Brady.
I understand the reasoning, but I don't have to like it.

And, i would think the OLB from the Ravens should go over Shawn Merriman, since he got caught cheating.

3. Why is John Lynch in the Pro Bowl?
I have seen several Broncos games this year and it was noticeable (to me anyway) that Lynch never actually does anything but he is always in the camera frame. Seriously after almost every play Lynch runs in from 15 feet away and stands around the pile (stupid thing to do).

4. LOL
Tiki is a joke when he gonna go over 2000 combined yards again?

Now the selection of Tony Romo...that's a joke.

15. A 1st year half season starter is not a ProBowler
The only reason he got in is the rest of the conference stinks.

Romo is a fourth year veteran.

19. a first year half season starter
who's nearly got 3,000 yards, benched a number one draft pick, #2 rated passer in the league and killed peyton manning in the colts first loss of the season...should i continue?

5. Westbrook is the most glaring omission.
He's better than all three selected. I was glad to see T.O. get snubbed even though he does deserve to be there. That shows what his peers and the coaches really think of him.

Romo making it is a joke but at the same time the NFC is so bad there wasn't anyone else to take because McNabb is hurt.

7. Westbrook vs. Jackson is a toss up.
Gore is having the best year out of any of them (almost 1500 rush & 400 rec) and Tiki(right now 1350 rush, 400+ rec) is gonna go over 2000 combined again this year.

Westbrook is at a shade under 1100 and 650+ rec.

Jackson is at 1200+ rush with 650+ rec.

The only blackmark would be Gore's propensity to fumble.

17. Westy has 50 less total yards than Tiki and 9 more TDs.
And he has the highest per rush average in the league at 5.6. And he has these numbers while missing a game. They threw Tiki a bone because he's retiring. Watch Westbrook this week, he's going to take it out big time on the Cowgirls.

And yes, Tom Brady is a glaring omission. Also, Westbrook is probably the second best all purpose back in football (next to you know who in San Diego).

11. Good quarterbacks on lousy teams: Jugensen, Manning, etc.
Jugensen lost games 45-42 back before the rules were ginned up to favor the offense.

One hundred times zero is still zero.

13. Pat Williams, DT, Vikings.
Vikes have shut down EVERYONE's run game. Pat's linemate Kevin made it, and he's good, but he's only half of the tandem. And Big Pat has been shutting down the run since he was with Buffalo. Major snub.

14. Al Harris, GB, CB
and this from a Vikings fan. Al Harris is the best CB in the league. He completely shuts down the best receivers out there. Complete injustice that he is not in the pro bowl.

20. antoine winfield, CB, vikings
and this from a packers fan...

i've been watching this guy all season and whoever said it in calling the packers-vikings game a couple days ago was right - take this guy out of the lineup and the vikings lose. he's incredible and he tackles like a freight train.

18. Asante Samuel CB - Patriots
I agree with Westbrook and Brady, but looking at the CB numbers, Samuel is having a better season than either McAllister or Mathis despite missing 1 game. Maybe I'm a little biased being from Massachusetts, though.

23. Warren Sapp and Vonnie Holliday
Edited on Sun Dec-24-06 01:48 AM by Awsi Dooger
DT is my favorite position and both of these guys quietly had big years on subpar teams. I mentioned very early in the season that Sapp had his weight down and was looking good. That's always the wild card with him. When he's in the 320+ range he's a worthless stationary blob but when he stays closer to 300 Sapp has always been a disruptor. This year he has 8 sacks and I believe that leads the AFC among DTs. Sean Salisbury mentioned tonight that Sapp belonged in the Pro Bowl this season. I agree, and it was probably Sapp's last chance. He could easily show up at 330 next year and do next to nothing on the field.

Sapp has kind of been like Andre Agassi in terms of ups and downs. He could have been an all timer if he had kept his weight down and played consistently like he did in the mid-to-late '90s, during the battles with Favre. As is, he's a memorable player and probably a borderline Hall of Famer.

Holliday is a DT/DE tweener but he settled at DT this year and had an excellent year for the Dolphins. Jason Taylor is livid that Holliday was excluded from the Pro Bowl, saying there's no way more than 4 DTs in the league had better years than Holliday.

26. John Runyan is a huge snub as well.
He's been dominating the league for 10 years but never gets the nod because the other players don't like him. He's too mean and the Pro Bowl is a glorified popularity contest. This is a travesty.

He has a career high number of interceptions, 7 I think. He's been a warrior too, playing through a lot of pain, and playing well too.

28. It's already been said, but I'll say it again: Tom Brady
The Patriots are 11-4 and heading to the playoffs thanks to Tom Brady, who didn't have either of his two starting wideouts from last year to hit. The fact that the Pats are 11-4 without Givens and Branch really says a lot about Brady's talent. He should have gone over Philip Rivers, who's had a good breakout season but also doesn't have the pressure of carrying his team's offense the way Brady does.
