Anyone Listen to Jim Rome?
At the office I listen to rome at the lunch hour. Ive been listening for a few months and find it entertaining and a welcome change from the usual politics on AM radio. Anyone ever call in to give a take on the show? i want to call in during 2007. I'm fairly smart and well spoken. I just need to get in. Any pointers from successful callers? Basically I want to work on having good takes, and then work on bringing in smack.

2. Jim Rome is all about Jim Rome
He is as phony as can be. He made his name by picking a fight w/ an
NFL player by calling him a women.

he is quick and has "some game" but his radio show is based on suck ups
calling him and feeding his ego ......

R you good enough to "talk smack w/ Romey in the Jungle?"

6. Yea, pretty much
I can tolerate him mostly though because he doesn't let his political position (what ever it is) drift into his show that is supposed to be about sports. He has been a local host around here in SoCal quite a few years longer that that syndicated stuff also. He was much better before his head got all big.

7. He's definitely a phony.
I've heard that fight with Jim Everett was staged by Rome and Everett, to draw attention to his show.

8. One way or another is a punk thing to do.
Besides if any NFL player including kickers wanted to
they would have kicked Rome's ass.

Jim Everett = Ht/Wt: 6-5, 212

14. You got that right!
Once a year to hear him is enough.

He called Jim Everett QB of the rams, "Chris Evert". He almost knocked Rome to another continent.

Moran.

4. I don't hate myself enough to listen to Jim Rome.
He seems like the type of guy who would stand in front of a mirror naked and pleasure himself while admiring the image in the mirror.

5. I prioritize original thought
You won't get an ounce of that from Jim Rome during an entire year. He's a triumph of high decibel arrogant recitement of nothing but cliche opinions.

11. Jim Rome - The.... king.... of... the ... pregnant. ....pause
You could listen to his show for 2 hours and hear only about 10 minutes of actual conversation. But generally he's an insufferable douchebag.

12. rome and his wackoff. . .oops, smackoff, is something all 6 year olds look
forward to. imagine, grown men with failed dreams of sports taking smack about people who wouldn't care what they say.

i used to listen to his show. he sucks up to athlete while telling his callers, listeners and sports fans to go to hell. the contempt for his listeners and callers is very transparent.

add to the fact he's syndicated by a clear channel subsidiary and i'd rather jump into a pool filled with doubl edge razor blades and fine shards of broken glass.

his jokes are lame, his. . .tendancy. . .to. . .pause. . .for. . .10,000. . .years. . .between. . .sentences. . .is. . .annoying and insulting his listeners drives me nuts.

13. good lluck w/ that,
it's a fun show even when he's totally bashing my beloved hawkeyes whom he really hs it in for lately.

If you get through be quick and relevant. Stating plain facts aren't going to get it done. Want to talk about the Seahawks winning their first playoff game this year? spend some time on Hasselback not being able to convert on any of his two point conversions, it nearly cost them the game.
