Quick note to all the Steeler bashers
If you think their performance against the Jets is a sign that the Steelers are falling apart at the seams, let me just say that if you watch the Steelers all season you'll understand that today's playoff game is how the Steelers play all season long. You aren't going to watch a Steeler game for a Peyton Manning style offensive spectacular. The Steelers' main offensive philosphy is score one more point than the other team.

Plus the Steelers tend to play to their opponent. If its a team they're expected to roll over, they tend to be flat (see the Dallas and Jacksonville games this season) and if its a team that's supposed to give them a challenge they end up opening a can of whoop ass (see the Philly and NE games this season).

Just something to counter all the "the Steelers don't impress me anymore" crowd.

3. Looks to me like Colts-Pats is the AFC championship

If you watched the Pats this season, it was very predictable in the games leading up to the Pats-Steelers game that that was one where they were going to let one walk away. A nice respectable away game at a decent opponent mail-it-in. A tied at the half, lost in the fourth kinda deal. Well, the Steelers were singularly ungracious and ran away with it in the first quarter, after which the Pats had to put up a half-assed fight. And the Steelers ended up winning all the rest of their games, which wasn't really what the Pats or anyone else really expected either.

You're not gonna see that in a rematch.

And surviving one missed field goal is luck. Two missed field goals is undeservingly lucky.

4. I'm not particularly enamored with the steelers, but . .
they won despite not playing very well at all. that is the mark of a championship caliber team; they find a way to win.

5. They did not find a way to win
the Jets found a way to loose. Two missed field goals either one would have won the game. The steelers will go no further in the playoffs. I'm not a fan of either team but after yesterday I am not impressed with the steelers.

6. Exactly
And this isn't Steeler Bashing, I thought they were quite good throughout the season, but their game against the Jets was just horrible. Well to be fair, their defense was on the spot, after all The Jets only got 3 offensive points, the Defense must of been doing their job (combine that with the fact the Jets offense had no idea what they were suppose to do as the game went on)

I would say instead of not being impress with the Steelers, I was more or less not impress with Ben. Yes I know he's 14-0, but he did not win that game at all yesterday. Okay, In the final quarters he had was much improved, but the first three quarters he was a mess, and it was only the Jet's offense failed ability to do a damn thing about capitilizing on any mistakes, (and missing those two field goals) that allowed the Steelers to win.

With that being said, although I think they will lose to the Colts/Patriots, lets not think it'll be a runaway game, I think the Steeler's Defense will do a good job with keeping it close, my two cents of course.

7. Uh, then what about their 33-30 Giants win?
A game they should have lost had the official thrown the flag for interference at the end of the game (instead of favoring the better team as they always do) when the Steelers mugged Giant receiver Amani Toomer as he was about to catch the winning TD pass?

That game showed me the Steelers were eminently beatable against a Giants team with a 3rd string safety and 6 of 11 starting defenders injured.

Jets should have won yesterday and would have if Brien hadn't suddenly turned into Scott Norwood.

8. Wow
Are all New York football fans like this or just the ones here?

Every time a New York football team loses its as if the only reason is because of paid off refs or unsportsmanlike play and not the fact that neither team can close the deal when it comes to winning games.

I know it sounds like false sportsmanship now, but if the Jets had won last night I would have congratulated the better team and not went on about biased refs.

9. I did not blame the refs for the Jets loss
but if you look at games throughout the season how can you deny that the better teams always get the benefit of the doubt on calls? For years Dallas got them, perhaps the most blatant of all of them.

16. Yep, the refs did it :^)
Yea like when them SOB's were trying to give the game to Jacksonville (receivers running into a corners outstretched hand is not pass interference :-) )

Good teams manage to win in spite of the refs, I think Pittsburgh is in that category

10. you got that right
Right, we don't win like how Manning does but I'll take a win in the last min because a win is a win, its not like they penalize you for not getting enough points.

11. Fairly true.
Nevermind the reality that this week's game offers little indication of how things will be next week, for the Steelers or for the Pats/Colts. Yeah, the Jets blew it. The Steelers got lucky today. Well, it usually takes a few lucky days to win a Super Bowl, and maybe the Steelers just cashed in their luck today.

This is a complete team. There's no way to count them out of anything over one game.

15. The Steeler 'D' only let up 3 points...
and the other 14 the Jets scored were off an interception run-back and a punt return. Trust me, I'm not overlooking the Steelers one second.

That being said, go Pats! (Who's defense, I might add, let up only 3 against the running, gunning Colts.)

17. The Colts will never match up good with teams like the Pats
as long as the put that piece of crap defense out there. What good is scoring a lot of points if you cant win games? You have to win at all different facets of the game. And today you have to take salary work downs to get on a winning team. Broncos, Rams, Bucs, Packers, 49rs, Cowboys, Ravens etc all talked dynasty, but couldn't do it.

People mostly say home field is an advantage, but many of the procrastinators seem to want to ignore that along with a lot of other things. Yea sure the Jets kinda humbled the Steelers, but they still won after they recovered from their own stupid mistakes. They have won a few of them like that, but they seem to have mostly only played up the competition. Except when what is supposed to be a good team for this or that then they seem to go out of their way with it. They didn't drum the Patriots and Eagles back to back because they were bored

The seasons stats favor the Steelers but the emotions favor the Patriots. I'm betting on mother nature this week, this game anyway.

It is no accident the Patriots are being very quiet. To both teams they are playing the games week by week now. This is the Super bowl if you loose.
