1. Are those really sports?
I thought they were all just forms of dance.

2. Title IX seems to think so.. And I agree. Takes a lot of athleticism
to do any of those really well. Diving is another one of the subjectively scored sports.

But, others feel "sports" only consist of activities where you are timed or gain points through some sort of goal system, so maybe diving is just a form of dance too. *l*

6. sex can take a lot of athleticism
many of the jobs I've had required a lot of athleticism.

If it's not objectively scored or timed, I don't think of it as a sport.

Oh, and NASCAR isn't a sport, either. So there.

8. Well, I love them!
Figure skating and gymnastics are wonderful to watch. Yes, they are sports, and yes, it is frustrating when you see something judged wrongly because there is so much subjectivity. But hey, the people who have gotten as far as they have in these sports know what they're up against.

4. Yeah, I'm always impressed.
Skateboarding, surfing, diving, gymnastics, figure skating, even some forms of skiing and snowboarding. There's no other way to judge them, and they're certainly competitive as all get out.

5. I adore figure skating. I have every US Nationals, World Championships
and Olympics on videotape from 1985 to the present.

You could say I'm slightly obssessed...

10. I'm not a fan, but do consider them a sport
IMO, figure skating and diving are sports. Cheering can be go either way - I'd definitely say the ESPN type ones are, but other types are more of an activity. NASCAR takes skill, but is not a sport to me.
