Should we allow soccer threads in the sports section?
I mean after all it's just kicking a ball around with an occasional academy award performance for best spasm.

1. The diving in soccer...
...is no worse than the flopping in the NBA. Remember Vlade Divac? The second somebody like Shaq happened to graze his leg, Vlade went down like he'd been shot.

Oh, and what about the pathetic work done by kickers and punters in the NFL, every time a player happens to go anywhere near them?

I guess I just don't understand the criticism of soccer, especially not for crap that goes on in every other sport that we can think of.

4. Vlade Divac

He's a foreigner hence his tendency to flop.

And NFL kickers aren't really football players...they're mini-soccer players.

5. That would be
more of what we should call "Evander Holyfield qualities." In the infamous fight where Mike is alleged to have licked or nibbled Evander's ear, the films do show Holyfield butted Mike several times, opening a cut. Mike did appear to have some frustration at the failure of the referee -- a man who represented the greater society -- ignoring Holyfield's illegal tactic. More, Evander was once disqualified as an amateur for biting an opponent. Also, Holyfield used steroids.

Free Mike Tyson!

7. Ok .....
let's just say for sake of this discussion that Mike DID lick Evander's ear. Does that in any way change the fact that Mike was the real victim in the fight?

10. Clearly photoshopped.
Surely we all know Mike didn't have any tatoo on his right arm at the time of the first Holyfield fight.
