Charging to the top of the NL East with J-RO Jimmy Rollins, Victorino, the Flying Hawaiian, what an awesome arm and Pat Elvis Burrell.

1. The Weather has been terrible here in Houston
The other night we had hail hit our windows so hard, I thought they all were going to break.... Yesterday a tree fell into my nephew's pool... Bad weather on the way again....

Yes and how about those cubs!!!!

2. But what about the Yaaaaaaankees?
If the Yankees aren't in first place, that's a crisis for baseball. The entire sport must stop and ask what can the Yankees do to turn it around? How can the Yankees improve? Will Joe Torre get fired? When is Roger Clemens first start?

7. $2.85 in southwest Mississippi
Edited on Tue May-15-07 01:51 PM by BOSSHOG
which is rather telling. Its as if oil companies collude to get the maximum they can out of people who live in certain geographic areas. Who would have thought that?

6. "Charging to the top of the NL East"

You know the teams with the four best records in baseball, right?

Boston Red Sox
Milwaukee Brewers
New York Mets
Atlanta Braves

What do two of those teams have in common with the Philadelphia Phillies?

15. Nevertheless
It is mid-May.

So it's just as senseless to say that the Phillies are charging to the top pf the NL East, isn't it?

Why bother saying anything about baseball in mid-May? You can't make a claim in mid May and then defend that claim by arguing that it's only mid May!

And the fact remains. In mid-May, two of the strongest teams in baseball are in the NL East, ahead of the Phillies.

So, good luck. But I'm sticking with the Mets.

The Phillies being the losingest franchise in the recorded history of professional sports.

25. Sounds tragic
Even more so because Met fans never think of you (or the Phillies) at all.

;-)

Good luck with the Brewers.

(Trust me...I live in PA...I've heard it all...you cannot come up with anything that would affect me in the least bit...Phils fans amuse me, at best...will be drinking at the bar tonight with some Phils fans and hope to see the Met game on one of the screens...at the very least, Phils fans are at least better than Bucs fans...)

26. And Mets Fans
are almost as good as Cardinal Fans. Almost. Mets fans never think of the Phillies, why that must be a alcibiades mystery. We do have the hero of the 69 world series broadcasting the AAA affiliate in New Orleans. His name escapes me. Centerfielder.
