TRUMAD: How you feeling about the Trent Green trade?

1. I think we've been here once before.

Aging, fragile quarterback coming off of a serious injury, but expected to start from Week 1.

It sounds familiar, somehow.

2. I don't like the trade

Give me a 4th round pick over a stop gap QB. Trent Green has always been great in my favorite stat, yards per pass attempt. But last year he plummeted to 6.8, after being at least 7.7 each of the previous 4 seasons. That's all the difference between a top level playoff QB to shaky/reject.

His completion percentage barely dipped and was still very good at 61.1. That means he simply wasn't getting the ball down the field, and defaulted to the underneath crap too often. That's what aging and injured QBs do, and it's suicidal in the NFL. KC didn't even threaten down the field in the playoff game at Indy, 24 attempts by Green for only 107 yards. Old QBs seldom rebound after a season like that.

4. Concussions have a way of doing that...

I always say---one concussion---- here comes more... Just ask Aikman or Young about that. Plus---once a QB starts heading south, (an apropo pun for Green) they head south fast.

3. Green is simply a two year guy until John Beck comes of age.

Hopefully it turns out like a Drew Bledsoe, Tom Brady kind of thing.

They have a mini-camp this week and Daunte has been cleared to play. It will be curious to see how he looks.

I gotta be honest with you Will--- I have no fucking clue anymore on how anything will turn out with my beloved Phins. I'm starting to call it the Dan Marino curse---I'm just hoping it don't take as long as the Babe curse before we see the big show again.

5. As a Chief fan, I am really pissed off about this

Green did everything anyone asked of him at KC

we lose Roaf, the O-line crumbles Green takes a hit the First fucking day and they punish HIM
