1. Great picks, greenbriar
I thought Cleveland would win one or two. But I focused primarily on the low scoring games and did well on that. Only one of them went above 165 and that was a situational fluke, when the Spurs got so far ahead in the first half the game got loose and sloppy.

The Spurs are remarkable. This makes 10 consecutive seasons they have finished in the top 3 in the league in fewest points allowed. That's incredible sustained intensity, especially in the West which is a higher scoring conference. This year San Antonio allowed 1.7 points fewer than any team in the league. That defensive superiority allowed the Spurs to lead the league in point differential for the fourth straight year, nearly a full point above Dallas and more than a point better than Phoenix. They may have been seeded third but many vital categories isolated San Antonio as the best team, same as the Colts last season with their yards per pass attempt differential excellence.

2. Congraulations to the Spurs
Congralutions to the Spurs and their fans for the championship win. The Spurs are truly a dynasty. They have now won four championships in nine years. In addition, they have won their last three in five years. The Spurs have a great team and a great coach.

7. The easiest pick of the year
These playoffs lost my interest the minute San Antonio vanquished Phoenix in Game 6. The NBA is the one sport where the superior team nearly always advances. That's why Dallas losing to Golden State was such an unbelievable upset.

I think any of the Top 5 in the West could have beaten Cleveland. Not to take anything away from Cleveland, but they weren't the 2nd best (or even in the Top 5) team in the league this year. And the East took another hit in the Draft Lottery, with Durant and Oden assuredly going into the Western Conference.
