Ron Artest calls penalty too harsh while promoting his CD!
Ron Artest holds his CD up to the camera smiling while giving his interview.

"I don't think it was fair — that many games," Artest said in an interview with NBC's "Today" show. "I respect (NBA Commissioner) David Stern's decisions, but I don't think I should have been out for the whole season."

You can see the interview from the "Today show" on http://crooksandliars.com/

Afterwards Billy Hunter, the ex. director of the player's union said that he should only be suspended half the season and be entered in anger management.

Katie replied: Wasn't he already in anger management?

Hunter: No, not really...he was before..

Did Ron actually think holding up his CD while smiling was going to be perceived to be an apology? It seemed more like a promotion interview. Usually an apology has a hint of contrition in it. For a man who has been suspended 10 times he got off lucky at one year. I'm sure though the NBA will cave and reduce his suspension because Ron is a star player.

The fake "moral majority" will say it's Hollywood's fault.

2. I wouldn't apologize either.
He should take this opportunity to make rap albums just to spite all the assholes who got upset because he said he'd like to take some time off to make a rap album.

7. Artest is the gift that just keeps giving
Maybe he started swinging on fans to increase his street cred in order to improve his sales. Though, I have to figure that the $5 Million dollars or so that he is going to lose is a steep price to pay.

5. Why does anyone pay attention to this idiot
overpaid, self-indulgent, self-centered athletes. I have no time for people who can't control themselves.

6. Well lets see here
you have a Detroit Lions logo as your avatar so is it safe to assume that you are a Pistons fan as well? Wallace should have recieved a much stiffer penalty in my opinion, he was all over Artest and I thought fighting wasn't to be tolerated in the NBA. I don't give a damn about either team by the way, I'm just sayin'.

8. Six games is pretty severe for a fight
It's usually much less than that. In a way, Wallace is being punished because Artest and Jackson lost their minds. Same with O'Neal. It's still not clear to me if he did anything more than hit fans who were on the floor. And in my view, once fans come onto the floor, it's fair game on then.

9. "I have no time for people who can't control themselves."
So I guess you have no time for fans of the Detroit Pistons.

10. I don't even watch the NBA...
but from what I've seen, this thug deserves the suspension plus a hefty lawsuit and criminal charges. That said, any fan who came onto the court and involved himself in the brawl should also face charges and a lifetime ban from the games.
