I....Just got home from the KU vs TEXAS game... |
|
WOW...
KU waxed Texas, wiped the floor with them on national TV, in one of the best places to see a college basketball game, "Phog" Allen field house which turns 50 this year.
ESPN, DICKY V, and all the spectacle that surrounds a BIG conference game was on display.
KU blew Texas off the court, winning by 25, final score 90-65.
Right before the half, with seconds left, KU sank a three pointer and the building completely erupted as the buzzer sounded.
The NBA lost me years ago, but I love college basketball.
And seeing a game in Lawrence Kansas, is seeing a game in basketball heaven.
ROCK, CHALK, JAYHAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!
My ears still are ringing.

4. Thank you! My big guy did good tonight..... |
|
We haven't won the tourney since '99. He has to follow in his bro's shadow, my oldest graduated last year and goes to K-State. (just pick-up games for him now.)
I also got a daughter in 8th grade that is quite a player herself. All this sports wears me out, but I wouldn't miss it for the world....And I watch KU play on the tube in the off time.
My bro told me about the DU, this is a great site. Thanks for the welcome.
First thing my son said when he got home from the game bus, ---"that was my best game!!" and then he said, "Gawd, KU beat the crap out of Texas!"

Rock Chalk...Jay Hawk...KU.
Man, I would really hate to be an opposing point guard trying to take the ball up the court against both that chant and Aaron Miles.

6. I went to the game as well |
|
and got my picture with Dicky V! I had a blast and the Fieldhouse was rockin' as usual. Being a season ticket holder, I'm a little biased, but I definitely thinks it's the greatest place in basketball - pro or college.
I'm so glad they lost to Nova, got it out of the way and seem to be refocused. It's getting close to tourney time and I can already taste that cold Budweiser in The Lou for the Final Four.........
Also, I'd like to say that for the last 2 months I have been predicting that Quin Snyder gets fired the day after we beat them. Seems there is little room for doubt after 3 conference losses in a row and falling below .500. And still...I laugh. At some point I thought I would start to feel sorry for them, but I still think it's funny. Is that wrong?
As for KSU, I'm so glad they are back. And even happier we managed to whoop their ass in football this year. Something they better start getting used to! This rivalry was strong when I went to KU and I'd like to see it cranked back up. Now that football/basketball aren't so lopsided, it's much more fun. I also wouldn't be suprised to see the KU win streak over KSU in bball snapped this year. Hate to say it, but there it is.
