(Ricky) Williams to Be Reinstated After 4 Game Suspension
Edited on Wed Nov-24-04 12:10 AM by Champ
By BARRY WILNER, AP Football Writer

NEW YORK - Ricky Williams will serve a four-game suspension beginning next month, then will be reinstated to the Miami Dolphins (news) by the NFL, according to his lawyer.

But the league says no agreement has been finalized.

"I am pleased with the National Football League's proposal," attorney David Cornwell said Tuesday. "I think Ricky will be pleased, too."

Williams must approve the deal, which would move him from the retired list to the suspended list for the final four games of the schedule. The running back is required to serve a four-game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

I knew he wouldn't be retired forever.

1. Just because
his lawyers/agent have cleared the way doesn't mean he'll do it.

Read the latest Esquire interview with him, and the sfgate.com story about him training to be a holisitic healer in the Sierras. I wouldn't be surprised if this is all motivated by his agent and lawyers.

On the other hand, he's just flaky enough to suddenly decide to play again. But read the articles.

2. Too late too edit
Admittedly I didn't read the entire article, Yahoo sports only showed the first paragraph and that was the only part I read. From what it said led me to believe Williams was coming back, from there I went on to post the article without reading it entirely.
