Eagles Cool, Patriots Bristle
ESPN continues to try to create controversey with with the Freddie Mitchell v. Rodney Harrison Feud.

________________________________________

"They were meaningless comments," Donovan McNabb said. "Freddie didn't mean anything by them. It's sad that people have to blow them up to make them into a story.

"Freddie apologized. If someone needs those comments to get up for a game like this, they don't need to be here. This is the Super Bowl, this is the ultimate."

I think the "Dynasty" talk is putting a lot of pressure on Patriots, and their reaction to Mitchell shows it. If they need to find or create extra motivation, then something is wrong; and if they are actually letting the comments get to them, then I have to question their focus. From what I've heard from fans and from the major media, SuperBowl 39 will be less like a football game and more like the recent inauguration, a celebration of the greatest team in history. Why would the Pats even stop to notice the Eagles on their way to immortality?

1. Well they better pay attention
because my Iggles are going to do to them what my Villanova Wildcats did to Georgetown.

I can only hope and pray...

2. In the post-Stephen Glass Era: Just Make it UP!? AP Story was Worse!
Barry Wilner's AP story on "Trash Talkin'" was the only REAL "Trash" being filed out of that Florida Fishing Village.:puke:

3. Gotta understand something about the media
They were desperate for stories last week, especially stories not focused on TO's ankle. Filing pressure is very real, ergo they cobbled this together. The Pats don't care.

5. Exactly.
Rodney Harrison brushed that one off, though I still think he's gonna crush Freddie like an accordion when they meet on the field. No one cares. The Patriots don't care. The Eagles don't care. ESPN is just trying to create controversy.

4. Anybody of the opinion that
T.O. is in great shape and that either Freddie is upset because he's about to be eclipsed OR, more interestingly, this is a ploy to take the thrust away from T.O. and have the Pat's secondary focused on Mitchell instead of the explosive weapon which is T.O.?

Also, recall last week how Reid held Westbrook back in the first half. And then...boom Sort of like Rocky with the Left Hand. (in the first film).

7. If TO plays
TO will be focused on. They could catapult a million cows over the moon to distract everyone, but if TO is playing, TO will be focused on.

6. Much ado about nothing.
As I said before. The comments are even more meaningless today than they were last week. It's well past the time to let it go but the media simply will not. I'm sure neither team gives a wet slap one way or the other.
