1. I have NEVER seen anyone as lawyered up as Clemens is |
|
Just passing by a TV with his tesitmony on it I saw one lawyer standing up and announcing something and then another one whispering in Roger's ear before he spoke-from behind him.

2. It has been amazing to watch this... |
|
Even today, in a hearing that shouldn't be partisan, almost all the Pubbies are choosing sides and lining up behind Clemens
Davis and Burton have acted like asshats today

3. That was a potentially damaging point |
|
Waxman said the committee was trying to get the name of Clemens' nanny to corroborate testimony. Clemens' lawyers wouldn't give them the information. Then Clemens invited her to his house and talked about her potential testimony BEFORE her name and address were turned over to the committee. He NEEDED the lawyers at that point.

and the receipt? His explanation for not possibly being at Conseco's is a receipt for golf....at the course Conseco lives on \
the nanny thing is clearly tampering and obstruction.

6. from Mike and the Mad Dog |

Francesa again: "It shocked me to see how much this hearing broke along party lines. The republicans went for the mat for him today."
Dog: "I'm not gonna lie, I'm a registered republican, and I am EMBARRASSED to be a Republican right now.

clemens is a big W guy from what I understand. That may be the reason. Frankly the Repubs are screwing up -part of this whole thing was union busting but they seem to have put the person before the cause.

8. I like Mike and the Mad Dog |

The only good thing on the YES Network :D
From a political perspective, it's interesting that THIS is what makes Russo embarrassed to be a Republican.
The worst thing I heard today was Clemens reading his wife's statement that her taking HGH was a harmless act. That's a good message to send.
I do think Mark Souder (R-IN) came out of this looking good. He and Cummings have worked together in the past and he doesn't seem like a typical GOP slimeball.
And Cummings just destroyed Clemens. Any prosecutor who gets this case should play Cummings' statements during closing arguments to sum up the case.
