Is Kevin Durant over hyped? It seems that all people talk about in terms of rookies is Kevin Durant. However, during the beginning of the Rookie Challenge Charles Barkley said that he would be upset if Kevin Durant was awarded rookie of the year over Al Horford. Barkley claimed that Durant as this point is one dimensional and is only shooting 30% (he was corrected and told Durant is shooting 40%). So, is Kevin Durant over-hyped?

Gary Payton, a sure to be Hall of Famer, was the second overall pick by the Sonics as well. He struggled during his first couple seasons before breaking out.
Durant played only 1 year of college ball, he is still only 19 years old give him some time.

Durant is 19 and playing on one of the worst teams in the league.
I think he's been great and will continue to improve.
