Jets On A Spending Spree and Trading Spree So Far
Edited on Mon Mar-03-08 03:52 PM by Magic Rat
They traded Jonathan Vilma for a 4th and 3rd round picks.
They just traded Dwayne Robertson for 4th and 5th round picks.

They traded for Kris Jenkins.
They signed Alan Fancea.
They signed Clavin Pace
They just signed Dameion Woody.

The team in just a couple of days has managed to snag four quality players and add four draft picks.

So far for the draft they have a number one, a number two, a number three, three number fours, two number fives, a sixth and seventh round pick.

Not bad for the first week.

2. true

10. There is no way McFadden will still be on the board at 6th...
And I don't see what the Jets could have to offer that would move them up in the draft to get him. Miami and St. Louis and KC already have good RB's (though Brown will be coming off an injury) but if Atlanta doesn't take him, Oakland will.

3. Damn, the Dolphins really wanted Pace
Big strongside 3-4 backer who can rush. Once a first round draft choice. Of the 9 players Miami targeted with early money they got every one of them besides Pace, who dragged his decision for a few days before aligning with the Jets.

At least it was the Jets. I violate standard Miami Dolphin fan protocol and common sense, since my second favorite team is the Jets. Particularly when they reinstated the old Namath-era unis under Parcells' insistence.

8. "second favorite team is the Jets"
Dude--that's like being a Hurricane fan and saying your 2nd favorite team is the Gators... ;-)

13. Nothing could be that absurd
Only a screwed up Canes fan lists the Gators as second most hated, or higher.

It baffled me when the internet message boards arrived. I had no idea Dolphin fans despised the Jets to such extreme. I always thought of them as an interesting team, and never much of a threat. I saw the '68 Super Bowl in person so that's a lifelong memory, and I guess an attachment to the franchise. But lately, after tirades I can do without, I don't mention my tolerance of the Jets on Dolphin message boards anymore.:)

5. Pennington stinks
and Clemens didn't show me anything last year to make me think he's a big-time QB.

6. Way overpaid for Pace
$22 million guaranteed - Jets fans are not going to like the performance he gives for that money.

12. Woody hasn't been any good in years
and Jenkins has been very mediocre for quite a while. The contact they gave to Pace didn't make any sense. Faneca is just about the best guard in the league.
