2. wow...
The Cs were up by 27 with a couple min left. How many games have they won by 20 or more now? I think I recall they are approaching the season record.

I'm hopeful they can track down flag 17!

5. Between him and Lewis it's been a tough stretch to be a fan.
I'm real happy for Pierce this year. He's gone through some tough times here and deserves this.

6. and to all the fans...
and to watch an NBA Finals where the Celtics drop the Lakers in 5 games.

Watching the Lakers win 5 championships since we last won one is like watching the Republicans stealing office the majority of the time from the 1980s onward...IE, time for a good long change!

7. As a veteran fan of the Willis Reed era
I can't tell you how sad I am about the Knicks. I look at the Celtics and see that there is hope.

8. That was an impressive win against a West team (HOU).
They're going to need everything they've got to win a title this year when you look at the teams in the Western Conference. :wow:

9. I dont doubt...
...that the Celtics will have to reach back to win a 7 game set with the west representative in the NBA Finals, but let's flesh this out a bit:

The Celtics are going to have their hands full beating LeBron in round 2 of the playoffs and the Pistons in the Eastern Conference Finals.

The WEST, on the other hand, will beat themselves up on their own, and the Celtics only have to beat one team from the West that comes out of there, not three. That is a statement geared towards how hard it will be for Kobe to get LA back to the Finals to face the Cs.

10. Besides...
...the Celtics are 22-4 against the west, and have beaten all the 'best in the west' once already if not swept the season series.

I think the argument can be made solidly at this point that the west is a better conference, but they have no answer for the Celtics AT THIS POINT.

Time changes everything, so we'll have to play the games and not talk about how things look on March 19th and try to extrapolate a picture of June from it.

11. Everyone talks about the West....
but the Celtics are 22-4 against the west; and the Pistons are 19-8 against the West

13. We all know the regular season doesn't mean
crap, other than to position the top eight in each conference.

There's no question Boston and Detroit are good.

Detroit is seemingly always good.

But let's be honest...as long as the Spurs have Tim, they can win it all again if they put their minds to it.

They have been through it so many times, and they have the self confidence and will to beat anyone.

They're unstoppable, frankly.

I can't wait for the playoffs.

GO WARRIORS

14. Well, I respectfully disagree
that the Spurs are unstoppable. The Celtics just went into their house and overcame a 22 point deficit to win. That handed the Spurs their 4th loss in a row. At this time, they are hardly unstoppable.

Everyone is gunning for the Spurs, and after all 4 of their championships, they never were able to shake the "sophomore" slump. Never able to repeat.

I don't doubt they will make their push, but everyone from seed 1 to seed 8 is tough in the west. Separated by a mere 4 GAMES!

I have your Warriors to beat LA in round one if it comes to that match up. Monta Ellis my friends!

15. LOL. Okay, your team can take on San Antonio as long
as mine doesn't.

The Spurs made it look frighteningly easy last year.

And you're more confident about the Lakers than I am. We have trouble with L.A. for some reason.

But I hope you're right -- of course, LA and GS may not finish 1 & 8 respectively.

16. I would love for my team
the Celtics, to take on the Spurs because that would mean...drum roll please...that the Cs would be in the Finals vying for flag 17.

I expect the west to shake up quite a bit between now and the playoffs though. I mean, your Warriors might get hot and land a 4 seed or better. Who knows? They looked pretty bad against Sac last night though. Off night. Ellis wasn't a factor.

It is all just 'wait and see.'

17. Speaking of the Celtics, good game tonight against the MAVS
As I type this, the game is 87-86, Celtics lead, in the 4th quarter with 2:14 remaining.
