3. Resolution reached in Japan pay flap
FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The Red Sox ended a threatened boycott today of their final spring training game in Florida and their flight to Japan, resolving a dispute over paying coaches for the season-opening trip overseas. A major league source said that all staff associated with the trip will be compensated.
more stories like this

The game against Toronto started an hour late when the team voted unanimously not to play or go to Tokyo after learning coaches and staff would not get a $40,000 appearance fee for the Japan trip. Players said they believed that fee was part of the original deal.

According to the major league source, in the past, the coaches' compensation has come from the players' portion of the pool. This time around the coaches were eliminated from that pool.

8. What artificial turf?
All natural at Fenway, baby!

I'll agree with the DH. Tacky uniforms? Remember the old Houston Astros'? Now those were tacky unis. Maybe you're talking pinstripes. In that case, yes, tacky. :hide:

21. How bout the old White Sox Unis with shorts
And I did not care for the Phillies Uniforms from about 70 till about 95. I liked them going back to a more traditional look.

Eliminated by whom, I wonder, if this arrangement has been standard procedure. I doubt it was an accident or accounting error.

I turned the game on late thinking I had missed most of it. Looks like the delay was over an hour but it worked out int he end. (Except they lost the game.)

24. Oakland Players Also Voted To Support Their Coaches...
...after the Red Sox players vote, but their spring training game was hours later and was resolved before their vote became an issue with MLB - The fact that this was a nationally televised spring training game may have expedited the resolution - MLB (and/or MLBPA) meet egg
