3. Start rubbing
Georgia shouldn't have been there anyway. Arkansas-Indiana should be a good fight tonight. If the Hogs win I will declare all of you Hog Fans as they take on North Carolina.

2. Wonder if it has to do with the weather in the locations they are playing.

4. Weather
was a contributing factor in the SEC tourney as a tornado hit the Georgia Dome and the tourney had to be switched to Georgia Tech.

5. The Georgia Dome seems to have a history of water problems
I remember a few years back when my Jayhawks played there and the floors were wet. I remember Hinrich lost his footing a couple of times. I also remember hearing that there were problems back in 2006 during some competition there.

Just before I was going to post I thought I'd google "Jayhawks" and "Georgia Dome" and found this from '04.

Simien didn't score his first basket against Pacific until 10 minutes into the game, but his inside presence and warrior mentality were invaluable. He missed last year's tournament because of a dislocated shoulder that needed surgery, and he threw a scare into his team when he went down in a heap in this year's first tourney game, against Illinois-Chicago. Simien injured his groin when he slipped on a wet spot on the floor and did the splits, causing Kansas fans to gasp as he lay motionless on the floor. http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1208/is_13_228/ai_114785740

I think it is a good thing that games aren't being played in the Georgia Dome.

Good luck Razorbacks!

6. Kansas and K-State
looked pretty freaking awesome yesterday. My Kansas wife was really fired up watching the Wildcats last night. I'd love to see the Hogs slip by Indiana and give North Carolina a good game.

8. Your Kansas wife is one smart woman
I've liked the Hogs going back to the Nolan Richardson era, so I'm with you on this. Hey, any team that has "Kansas" in its name can't be all bad. ;)

9. Eddie Sutton was coach when I went to College there
Sydney Moncrief and Jim Counce were our monsters back then (75-79). My wife's mother worked for the State of Kansas with John Riggins mother along long time ago. He's still somewhat of a cult figure up in Northeast Kansas. I was going to get my wife a Big-12 Tourney Champ T-Shirt but I hope I'll be able to get her a national championship T-shirt in a few weeks.

If my state history serves me well, Arkansas was named after the Ouachita Indian tribe (pronounced Wash-ita) and the state was originally spelled Arkansaw.

11. Riggins has a show here
I don't know if you knew this but we moved to Maryland a couple of months ago. The Admiral got a job working in DC off of K Street (no, he's not a lobbyist). Anyway, I was running errands around town last week and I was trying to find the ESPN radio channel to see if I could hear some scores (it was conference tournament week). I hit the scanner button on the AM radio and it stopped on one channel where I heard Max Falkenstein's name being bandied about. At first I was shocked and then I got homesick. As I listened to the show I found out it was the "John Riggins Show". I've been listening to it almost every afternoon since then. He's a cult figure out here in the DC area now.

I used to see Riggins back in the late 80's/early '90's in Lawrence. He didn't live that far where I was living at the time and I would see him every once in a while at the liquor store at 6th and Kasold. I wasn't sure it was him at first so I asked one of the clerks and he confirmed it. He said John was a regular there as were other former KU greats. This wasn't surprising as it was - at that time - the far west side of town where the more expensive homes were located. I, on the other hand, lived north of that intersection in the working class neighborhood.

fwiw, I used to see Bud Stallworth in that area too. Ah, I remember the era of the "Cardiac Kids". Anyway, that area was in a part of town where you could find former KU players who returned in the off-season. I'd see them at the grocery store, restaurants and filling their cars with gas at the local Kwik Shop. Now, they've all moved a little more westward.

I was running around town the other day in my old 1988 Championship t-shirt. Yes, I still have the "official" one and several others too. I could probably go several months with wearing nothing but KU football and basketball t-shirts and never wear the same one twice. I've had people stop me and tell me that they like the Jayhawks' chances this year.

13. My brothers and sisters in law
keep me stocked with Jayhawk paraphernalia as well as Washburn stuff. Our niece is going to school there in Topeka. We live about 25 miles from Bret Favre's hometown so maybe we'll be seeing him hanging out. I've never been to a Jayhawk game but we did go to the Arkansas-Weber State tournament game at Allen Fieldhouse back in 79.
