Tyler Hansboro and Kevin Love-pro? |
|
my take is neither will be great pros. I do think Love will be the better pro but neither has the quickness needed to be an outstanding pro.

they are both insanely good college players. can't we enjoy that right now? Look at the probably top pick: Where is Michael Beasley playing this weekend?

2. Love would have to be a complete idiot to go. Hansbrough should stay one more year.... |
|
.... but it would be understandable if he didn't. And he'll be a fine 4.

Both, while not great pros will be first round picks (see JJ Reddick), and its not like either one can significantly improve their draft stock. Both will be solid, serviceable bigs (although Hansborough will actually get called for the travel he takes every other time in the NCAAs), and will be in the NBA for a while. Might as well start getting paid while you can, since you've basically got 10-15 years to earn most of you're lifetime salary.

NBA? are you kidding?
I think Love should stay. big men do better with another year of college, he won't improve his position, perhaps, but really what you are looking for is not the first four year deal, but the 7 year deal after that, that's where the fuck you money comes in. one more year of strength, one more year of positioning. one more year of experience. the difference between the second contracts of bigger men who have two years of college vs one year is pretty strong.
Psycho T isn't going to help his career much by staying, but I bet he does. teams aren't salivating over him in the NBA anyway, so he might as well stay and continue his legend in Chapel Hill.

3. I actually think Kevin Love will be a pretty good pro.... |
|
Hansboro looks like one of those great college players who'll get run over in the NBA.

6. Christian Laettner anyone? |
|
Besides both being white, I see similarities. Hansbrough will get a chance in the league, but I doubt he'll reach the level of excellence he achieved at UNC.

8. There are 0 similarities beyond their color. But that's enough for many. |

10. If Noah from Florida (last few years) can get on a NBA roster these two will have no problem |
|

Noah had the most jacked up jumpshot I have ever seen by someone at that level. Hansbrough and Love clearly have been well coached.
Remember something else-for those of us who watched Jordan at UNC..we had NO IDEA he was going to be THAT!!! Hansbrough is playing in the same program and system that Worthy and (fill in long list of names) did. He will be fine in the pros.

12. jordan was great even then |
|
Dean Smith chose him to shoot the winning shot in the Georgetown game. it was a 20 footer. he knew he was good. secondly, when I hear people say he could barely make a 12 footer I answer with if that was true why did Smith choose him to shoot the shot

I could see Love be a starting PF for some teams, but not many.
