1. I didn't catch any news after the Pat's pick.
I didn't know they got Henne too. Seems like a smart pick. You've got to be psyched about the moves being made down there.

2. Yeah, the Fish lucked out
The first thing I did was call 1gobluedem and let her know we have a new team to root for!

IMO, they got a steal on Henne. We'll see, I guess, but I don't think you can go all that wrong getting a Lloyd Carr-coached QB.

12. He started the last three or four games for the Ravens last season.
Actually looked fairly good, given the sad state of the Ravens last season.

13. I think the success rate of UM QBs in the NFL right now vs those
from the University of Ohio State speaks for itself.

4. Hey Lisa, a Wolverine is now a Saint
New Orleans traded "back into the draft" to get Michigan Wide Receiver Adrian Arrington in the seventh round. The Saints were out of draft picks but they gave up a next years pick to Green Bay to get Arrington. So if he makes the team, I would expect my favorit DU Lisa to be sporting a Fleur Di Lis next season. And to kind of return the favor the Packers picked LSU QB Matt Flynn in the seventh round.

The Saints also went to the Big Ten to get a Kicker, Taylor Mehlaff of Wisconsin. Hell, you're just gonna have to move down here.

6. I saw that. Michigan had 7 players drafted.
You're getting a good guy in Arrington. He was kicked off the team for a while, but Lloyd Carr talked to Arrington's mom and worked out a second chance (he had gotten into an altercation with the cops when his girlfriend called 911 when he was trying to drink and drive). Anyway, Lloyd Carr gave him a second chance if he would come to the stadium every morning and run drills. Lloyd showed up there with him, and he worked hard enough to get back on the team. Typical Lloyd Carr story, but I think he'll be good. He's exciting, and has a way of coming out of nowhere to make a catch.

The Lions had their usual head-scratching array of choices.

7. There was mention of the "trouble" in the NOLA paper today
but Saints GM Mickey Loomis didn't sound too concerned. Saints must have wanted the kid since they jumped back in the draft to get him. Did the Lions draft four more receivers?

8. The Lions are about to embark on the Gosder Cherilus era.
No, I don't know who he is and I don't know how to pronounce it either. But you know! Millen is a football genius! He's always been so right before!

Arrington got totally straightened out. It's kind of a Lloyd Carr m.o. If he thinks the kid is worth saving he'll do what it takes. AA's very talented and I hope he does well.

9. AA also owned up to his mistakes
And said it took him awhile to grow up but he did and he thanks Coach Carr for helping him do it.

Brian Griese would say the same thing; he got kicked off the team and worked his way back in too and it paid off big time for him.

I've always kind of liked the Saints anyway (I bawled like a baby when they came back to the Superdome after Katrina) so I won't have any trouble cheering for them.

However, the Senator will welcome Bitch, er, Rich Rodriguez to the Big Ten with a sound thumping in Columbus.

AA is doing a great job of impressing the Saints coaching staff.
