to be that close and not seal it, credit the Penguins. After Detroit scored twice in the third period I thought it was all over. And Marc-Andre Fleury made some big time saves, particularly in the first OT when the Wings were all over the Pens. Certainly, Detroit will still probably win it, but if I was a Wings fan, just a little doubt would now be creeping in.

4. The 3 overtimes were amazing too ....... Hockey at it's best. |
|
I'm kinda hoping it goes 7 games now just for the sport regardless of who wins it.

5. Reminds me of the Buckner moment for the Red Sox |

I can sympathize with the Detroit fans. But what an awesome hockey game!
I was at a Calder Cup game (AHL) that went three OTs. People are dead on their feet at they keep at it.
Whewwwwww

6. One way or another I think the Pens grew up alot last nite, |
|
Edited on Tue Jun-03-08 09:29 AM by PRETZEL
they played the second and third periods like they were afraid of making a mistake. They played prevent defense and that should have cost them the series. The last minute was pure desperation and they got a goal. We got the OT win on pure desperation and an untimely (although correct)penalty.
Whenever you are the visiting team in any series you need to steal a game on the opponents home ice. Marc-Andre Fluery did exactly that last nite. He still needs to do that again if this goes to game 7 which I now think this will.
No matter what, this will be a huge character builder for the Pens. They may (or may not) win the Cup because of this game but rest assured they now know what the Stanley Cup Finals are all about.

8. I had a bad feeling about Game 5 all along. |
|
It really stunk, but that's the breaks, I guess. We had so many more shots on goal! It's such a game of hit or miss.
