2. That was one of the best games of International football i have ever seen...
..really good stuff...end to end...with the added bonus that the Italian Diving Squad got their asses handed to them by the hard-working, always attacking Dutch...

See if they have that game on replay...it is worth hunting it down..

4. This tournament isn't going to be as fun without England
Without the Three Lions it already feels like less of an event.

5. They should have fired McLaren earlier then....it's their own stupid fault...
...don't get me wrong I am sick as a parrot that the lads aren't there, but it's the higher-ups in the FA that screwed this up by not demanding better results from the manager...

England were in control of their own destiny for much of the qualifiers and they chose to play poorly, or were under-trained or were just flat-out poorly managed....Whatever the excuse de jour is, they have only themsleves to blame...Dammit!

6. It's not like they were in a terribly difficult qualifying group either
Losses to Russia and Croatia when their asses are on the line are not acceptable.

Do you think Capello will be able to get the job done?

7. Not sure about Capello yet....we haven't really played anyone tough yet..
..and with WC qualifiers looming in the not-too-distant future I am more than a little apprehensive...

We have the talent, we have the skills we just don't seem to have the drive to win...always too cautious...we get a one goal lead and then just sit on the ball...we need to be much more aggressive and constantly threaten the opponents in their half...

8. aside from Rooney, none of the England forwards have been dangerous
He needs more help up front. Gerrard seems to be shackled. Not the same guy that we see charging around for Liverpool.

Oh they barely looked like anything the first 15 minutes...
then they got their confidence boosted after Italy made mistake after mistake (:wtf:), and they got that garbage goal.

Ugh.

I can't wait for their next match... which will probably not involve so much luck and a crap manager making crap decisions for the opposing team.

14. Good idea.
I'm used to having these matches ruined by the time I get home to watch... so I barely even notice anymore.

17. We go through this with international sport every time
Some fucking idiots on this board don't understand that other people exist, so they post stupid spoiler threads under the infantile belief that everybody sees through their own eyes. Then they have the nerve to get mad at YOU for "visiting the forum if you were trying to not see the result," when of course it would have been just as easy not to post a fucking result in the subject line.

With World Cup 2006, it became devastatingly clear that we have an inordinately high number of selfish assholes on this board.

18. Hup holland
I just needed to throw out a shout out to the Dutch for dismantling Italy.

The spain game ended up as total domination. Tonights first match was fairly competitive, and I have no hopes for the second match tonight. My eyes are on France/Holland on Friday... you can bet I'll be in the pub with my oranje gear on.
