Tiger the Freak---You know how many stories I read that said he didn't have a chance? |
|
I must have read 20 different pieces that said, no way, no how---- the old chink in his armor type stories.... Throughout his career I have read stories like this and every single time, they've been wrong.
I think there might be a point when these so-called experts with their crystal balls might stop doubting the best golfer ever.

1. the thing that would scare me, as a player |
|
from today, is his expression after holing the chip at 17, he just looked sheepish, like 'shit, i can't miss even when I try" assuming he can move his leg tomorrow, look out. of course, I will be watching US-Barbados, like I missed today at the DC United game, but what can you do? insane sports day tomorrow, Euro, US Open, US-Barbados, Celtics Lakers. thank goodness the girlfriend is out of town!

2. Somebody has to grab their nutsack and go low early ... |
|
and make Tiger shoot under par. If he has to face someone at -5 when he tees off, then he might press too hard and hurt himself. BUT, if the field falls away (like it will most likely do), Tiger will turn to Wilson and say, "Buddy, what do we have to do to get a par here?"

3. I don't care if he shoots 80 today, or can't walk and has to withdraw. He's the best ever. |
|
Saturday's round proved it. Going nowhere. Boom. Eagle. Two bogies. No problem. Pitch in, another eagle. See ya at the top of the leader board.

I don't care if he shoots 80 today, or can't walk and has to withdraw. He's the best ever. Like Obama after the New Hampshire primary, Tiger has won the moral victory. When he finished the first round only four strokes behind, I said, "Top ten finish, minimum." A six under on the back nine yesterday? He's baaacccck...and if he BELIEVES that there's no more reason to worry his knee, he's going to be that much MORE dangerous.
And apparently even Tiger's moral victories are enough to make Phil Mickelson swoon--any more doubt that he's developed a mental block about him?

4. I just screamed at the first eagle, and the "one hop and in" was just |
|
nuts, then the 2nd eagle??? Oh yeah, the guy is a freak, and I love it......he is just awesome, amazing, the best of our time......yikes. I'm getting a little tired of that Johnny Miller guy.....do not care for his blabbering the whole time Tiger or anyone is ready to swing, then he's quite, the swing, then he starts blabbering again. Nope, don't like style at all. I hope Tiger wins this by 5 strokes. :bounce:  :woohoo: :applause:

7. With a sound knee he probably would have won this by 5 to 10 shots |
|
Four double bogeys and he finished 1 under on a US Open setup.
The oddsmakers weren't fooled. I wanted to take 5/2 or higher on Tiger winning but couldn't find it. But it was a simple matchup bet, Tiger over Phil. It looked good beforehand but when they were paired together the first two rounds that gave Tiger a huge edge.
Westwood seems to be able to hold up while playing with Tiger. He's got the stroke edge lifetime when they're paired together and today they were level, both shooting 73.
I had a nice ***ing beat on a matchup today. Luke Donald was crushing Woody Austin. I couldn't lose other than DQ or withdrawal. Next thing I know NBC is showing Donald's hand in wraps, with only a few holes to play, then they announce he's withdrawn. That's at least 3 times I've lost that way in majors, without a single fluke win.
