Lordy, I hope we don't lose anyone. Even slight exercise in that kind of weather is dangerous.

1. Training Camp in Mississippi?
Why in the hell would they have camp there and not in a cooler climate.
Also, as a Giants fan I say thanks for taking J. Shockey off our hands.
Good luck with him.

2. Hard to figure out
but the Saints like to promote regionalism and would like to think of themselves as Mississippi's pro team. I just hope Jeremy behaves himself. He and Brees could make a great pair.

Do you have any plans to attend one of the training camp sessions in Mississippi?

5. I'm too lazy for that
My plans revolve around going to the fridge to get a beer. The New Orleans TV, radio and newspaper cabal do a great job of covering every aspect of the Saints Universe year round.

6. And to think
The Saints have a perfectly good indoor practice facility just outside of New Orleans. Too bad for the Skins. I'm somewhat of a jokester but this heat is deadly and no laughing matter.

8. Yeah
Its pretty bad up here at this time of the year as well..When its god awful they do try to move it indoors. Course its common to be chased inside by severe weather as well.

7. Could this explain the general prevalence of black-and-gold suckitude?
Edited on Wed Jul-23-08 01:25 PM by KamaAina
I mean, while 31 other teams are doing real two-a-days, in that climate, the 'Aints players will be lucky if they get to jog around the track a couple of times. Could this inherent disadvantage conceivably translate into four decades of regular-season beatdowns (with rare exceptions such as two years ago)?

edit: on the other hand, I hear wearing a paper bag over your head is a great way to cool off

9. Oh KamaAina
The Black and Gold suckitude can be traced directly to the location of the Superdome; Right on top of a VooDoo Graveyard. But the Saints are Mississippi's Team!!

If Deuce and Shockey are healthy this year the suckitude might just evaporate.

10. Benson ranked 29th of 32 NFL owners
Edited on Wed Jul-23-08 05:00 PM by KamaAina
This could have something to do with it, too...

29. New Orleans Saints – Tom Benson: It amazes me that Benson can't even crack this year's bottom three, not that he was any less awful than usual during the past 12 months. My favorite moment came last October when Benson, in the wake of a vote by owners to lower teams' debt caps, told SportsBusiness Journal, "The union forced this, not us." That contradicted Goodell's earlier statement that the move had been made in response to turbulent global credit markets, instead suggesting its motivation was to reduce the amount of cash spent on player salaries in preparation for a potential lockout when the current collective bargaining agreement expires in 2010. In other words Benson, the chair of the league's finance committee, made an implication that seemed to violate federal labor laws requiring good-faith negotiations. In February the NFL Players Association accused the NFL of collusion, the first such charge in the 15-year history of the current CBA. Two months later owners responded by voting to scrap the debt-reduction plan. Suffice it to say that no one at that meeting was doing the Benson Boogie.

And who, you might ask, ranked below the Boogie Man? Only Mike Brown (Bungles), Al Davis (Raiders), and -- the pits rock-bottom -- Wayne Weaver (Jags).

edit: then again, this same ranking has the R*dsk*ns' Dan Snyder third. From the top. :wtf:

12. I guess one could
say the Saints accomplished that today. Its about 180 in New Orleans and only about 140 way up north in Jackson. We strolled the quarter today and I thought I was gonna broil. Thank God someone invented beer and air conditioners.
