Limbaugh says he might buy Rams if given chance
<snip>

"Political talk show radio host Rush Limbaugh said if the St. Louis Rams came up for sale, he might be interested in buying the team.

Limbaugh told KMOX radio in St. Louis that NFL ownership is a "billionaire's club." He said he's not part of that club, but is in good financial shape.

Limbaugh said any move he makes would be a business decision, and not based on his ties to the region. Limbaugh is from Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

"The worst thing that could happen is for a fan to buy the team," he said. "When I say this to people, they say, 'That's crazy, it would be fun.' It's a billion-dollar business."

The Rams owners have said the team is not for sale, but there has been speculation they could be swayed by the right offer. Longtime owner Georgia Frontiere died earlier this year. Her children are majority owners."

2. As a Seahawk fan I'd love nothing more
With requisite apologies to DUer Ram fans, but that would certainly sharpen the rivalry for me personally.

4. The St Louis Aryans???
or The Missouri Whiteys? Boy ole rush will put together an all white team to kick some NFL ass.

His contract is just more proof that ignorance is a conservative value.

5. Exactly.
I don't think he'd have a very successful franchise, since presumably most self-respecting African-Americans (I'd hope football players in general) wouldn't exactly be champing at the bit to put more money in his bank account.

6. Hi Lisa
It will soon be our season so I guess we'll be conversing more often. I don't think this will be a happy year for me. So far, five Razorbacks have been arrested for various and asundry knucklhead things since last season; my favorite Coach is now leading Ole Miss and Frank Broyles has retired. Maybe Brees to Shockey will cheer me up as I look to Sunday for football solace.

7. LOL. Try being a Michigan fan!
Everyone in the world hates our coach (except me, I guess - I'll give him a chance), the school had to buy out his contract (which seemed to be a huge surprise to many for some reason), the players who didn't feel like getting in shape have left for other schools, including Ohio State, and the last I knew, the team didn't even have a quarterback. Oh, and they're going to put the team in ugly away jerseys (take it from me, that won't last) and the stadium is being uglified with luxury boxes for people like who you hate watching games in 28-degree sleet!

At least no one is currently in jail to my knowledge, but I guess that could change!

Now if Arkansas and Michigan play in January, we'll have the last laugh on everyone - the most true, loyal fans of all!

8. Hey we got your old Quarterback
I don't know if he is playing this year or not. All the pre-season mags have the Hogs picked last in the SEC West. Course, we all know that would equal runner up in the Big Ten.

I went to an Arkansas-Ole Miss night games several years ago. The temps got down in the 40's. It was horrible.

11. I hope you like interceptions
that the QB takes no responsibility for. Because if he plays this year, that's what you'll get!

9. Yea he might "buy" the Rams ... with the help of investors.
Please.

You can't tell me that Oxy Rush can afford to cut a check for $908,000,000 to buy the Rams.

That's the team's 2007 value according to Forbes --------> http://www.sportscity.com/NFL/Forbes-NFL-Team-Valuations.

12. Holy Shit...
I just checked the link and I'm shocked that the Redskins have the highest revenue and by a wide margin ($312 million vs. the 2nd place Patriots $255 million), and that the Texans are 4th in revenue at $225 million.

10. McNabb back to throw... rolls left...
into the end zone... Touchdown Philadelphia! That's a record-setting 7th TD pass this half! Akers adds the extra point... the score Philadelphia 49, St Louis 0.

15. Tom Clancy was telling everyone that he was about to buy the Ravens
well the new Baltimore team and he was told by the league that he didn't have enough money

:shrug: at least that was the story in B'more at the time.

That being said Robert KRaft couldn't afford season tickets when he put the group together to buy the Pats. Basically anyone can afford an NFL team-once you own it you are basically printing money.
