Any wagers on who's gonna win the AL East?
After tonight, I'm still going with Tampa Bay, because the Sox have to get through 3 at Toronto this weekend. It'll be down to the wire. The Sox have a 7-game wild card lead with 11 games left, even when they were cursed by Babe, they wouldn't have blown that. But I'd rather see them get the division and have Tampa have to play at the Angels first off--the Angels should win, but at least Tampa might rough them up a bit.

1. I'll go with the Red Sox
Love 'em or hate 'em, they've been through it before and know how to win it.

Of course, TB gets the wild card spot, so it doesn't really matter that much.

2. Yeah, they're both in...Minnesota even loses to Cleveland, so
they can't catch a break...but as I said, I'd rather play the White Sox at Fenway than have to travel to play the Los Angeles Angels of Rancho Cucamonga there...let Tampa be the first sacrificial lamb.

3. And
there's a heckuva race heating up in the NL East. Milwaukee and New York are doing all they can to get the Phillies in the playoffs.

6. I'm very happy to see both those teams struggling, but we can't bank
on their failure. We should be able to get in with our remaining schedule, but we have to play our best baseball yet. Nothing's guaranteed.

Go PHILLIES!

7. I'm going with Sox just because they've been here before.
There's so much experience with this kind of thing on the Sox that I have to give them the edge. It's not a sure thing, though.

8. I'm taking the Rays.
The schedule favors them. So long as they don't get swept at home by the Sox they should be able to hold on.

9. Buffalo looks pretty good so far. Either Buffalo or New England.

12. The Cowboys win a game and the NFL goes straight to your head.
:)

Buffalo is my dark horse team this year. They were pretty good last, but lost a couple of real tough ones that killed them.

Pittsburgh was in contention for the first couple weeks of the season.

10. Amd this is why I'm going with Tampa...
...the Red Sox, although playing well lately, cannot close out the close ones anymore...something is missing this year, perhaps the all-elusive "it."

11. They still have the 'it' factor.
The trouble is, it looks like Tampa has it this year too.

Great game last night, even though the Rays won.

14. Rays winning early tonight...Sox get wildcard, lose to angels in 3...
...sort of like 2005...the passion isn't there.

15. Nasty game tonight.
For a Sox fan.

I don't mind the Rays winning the Division though. They deserve it.

16. If the Sox were having a really bad year, I'd be happy for the Rays...
...alas, their success comes at a bad time.
