Poll question: Who do you want to see play the Cubs in the World Series?
And don't tell me it won't be the Cubs. They are destined.

1. I'll take choice number one please.

But if the Cubs make it it'll be hard to root against them no matter who it is. It'll be tough to muster up the inner cruelty one needs to want them to come so close to ending their misery and fail.

It does sound kind of fun though, doesn't it?

4. You know, if the Cubs win the World Series...
this obnoxious fan is going to get a big Cubs pennant and put it in my Dad's grave vase. He was born in 1913 and loved the Cubs. He died in 2002 never having seen his favorite team win it all.

5. Well I've never seen my team win it all either, so will all due
respect, I don't hold much sympathy for Cubs fans.

The older generation Cubs fans are the ones I care about.

Not the spoiled twenty-thirty somethings who drive their BWM's to the game and make everyone's lives miserable with their obnoxious behavior.

Please, they haven't won a thing in 100 years and they talk trash like they have more rings than the Yankees.

10. LOL...what's he hitting now, about .700?
Scariest hitter in the game right now, bar none. When he's hot he's terrifying.

Good thing I've liked the Dodgers ever since they beat the Yankees. And Joe Torre is just a class act.

Red Sox/Dodgers could provide some fireworks. :)

6. I hope they don't make it, merely because the red Sox have a shot
again, and God knows everyone in the world be rooting for the Cubs, and even I MIGHT feel a little guilty. I hope they win it all when the Sox have an off year.

11. Tampa fans should be thrilled with the way they've beaten the Sox lately.
Edited on Wed Sep-17-08 12:01 PM by Forkboy
They've won some real tight games that most people would expect the Sox to win. This bodes very well for their playoff run. Last night's game against Beckett was a perfect example. And you can tell that Tampa certainly has no fear of the Sox anymore, as it should be.

Tampa has been the best story of the whole year in baseball.
