There I was, not giving a damn about the Ryder Cup, and I ended up with tears.

Goddamn rich Republican golfers, and I loved every minute of it.

Damn.

1. I don't know if Phil Mickelson is a Repuke, but I still like him...
...apparently he's noted for the amount of time he will sign autographs for the crowds at every event. Seems like a swell guy to me.

6. Phil is apolitical.
His only donation to a candidate was 14 years ago (JD Hayworth).

5. Extremely high caliber of play today
Birdies galore. I was so engrossed in the golf I wasn't paying any attention to football.

I can't believe how the players step up in the Ryder Cup. Shots routinely end up within a few feet of the cup, particularly when the opponent has already played a great shot. The percentage of putts dropped from 8-20 feet jumps significantly from the typical tournament. I've seen that broken down statistically.

Today was far superior to the last two Cups but too bad it was decided with several groups remaining on the course. Those final matches really suffer once the team outcome is already known.
