As if i needed another reason to hate the Flyers...edit

Edit: I see someone else posted below...I did take a look thru, must have missed it, oops!

(no offense DU Flyer fans :P)

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin may want to bring some of her "Joe Sixpack" supporters for protection Friday night in Philadelphia, where she will perform the ceremonial puck drop prior to the Flyers' season opener against the Rangers.

There may be little affection from the City of Brotherly Love thrown the way of the Republican nominee for vice president - hey, this is the city that once booed Santa Claus - as her photo opportunity is ruffling feathers among Pennsylvania politicians and the city's rabid sports fans.

"She's dropped the ball on so many issues, it's little wonder they're trying to put her on ice," Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell, a Democrat, said in a statement to the Daily News. Other commentators and journalists have carped that the appearance is politically motivated since Flyers owner Ed Snider is a big GOP backer.

Snider has donated $25,000 to the Republican presidential campaign of John McCain and the Republican National Committee, according to The Inquirer.

1. I'm a Sharks fan. I'm not sure which team I'm supposed to
hate, although the Red Wings are right up there.

I should hate Anaheim, but for some reason, I don't.

And I don't like Colorado either.

2. That's the trouble with the expansion teams still.
Many of them still haven't developed any fierce rivalries, especially the Western Conference ones. Like you say, Detroit could fit because them and the Sharks have had some great series already, but that's about it. The Ducks? Well, any team called the Ducks doesn't inspire much of anything outside of giggling fits. :)
