The Lakers next four games:

Sun, Nov 9 Houston
Tue, Nov 11 @ Dallas
Wed, Nov 12 @ New Orleans
Fri, Nov 14 Detroit

Back to back road games vs Dallas and NO will be brutal.

Also hopefully we smash the most overrated team, Houston.

1. Well, You Can Dream
I don't see it happening. In the current West, it would be nearly impossible to win more than 65 games. (Which would be a very good season, so that's no knock.)

I was there for the 72 win season by the Bulls. Lots of amazing luck regarding injuries. Yeah it was a fantastic team that played outstanding defense, but nobody on the entire team ever got hurt bad enough to miss more than a game or two. That's not something you can plan for. That's just luck.

As good as the Lakers may be, nobody getting hurt badly the whole season is something they've never seen before. The whole roster has a history of getting hurt just bad enough to miss 5 or 10 games (or worse) somewhere along the way. I think the alignement of the stars would have be beyond perfect for them to hit 70 wins.

2. I think they can play through injuries
Without Kobe they still have a potent offense.

They're also deep in every position. I think they could live with an injury to Odom, Gasol or Bynum. Just as long as they're not all injured at the same time.

This is the most talented team ever compiled, but we'll see how serious they are after next week.

3. Maybe So
But, it still takes more than talent to win more than 7 out of every 8 games for a whole season. Remember when the Bulls did it, Jordan, Pippen, Longley, Harper, Wennington, Salley and Kerr never missed a single game. That's 4 of the first 7. And, the Bulls were very deep too. (Like the Lakers. I agree with you completely about that.)

But, a few games missed by Harper, or Kobe, or Bynum, and it gets really hard to maintain that 88% winning clip.

But, good luck. I'm a Bulls fan, but i like the Lakers, so if they're that good, it will be cool.

4. Who cares about any of that!!!!
Did you see those dudes play some of that shut down defense? When other teams play the Lakers there is no such thing as a weak side for them. It's now more fun to see if the other team can make a basket

5. Tonight's game was silly
I wonder if Dallas can score more than 80 against LA.
Maybe NO can put up a fight if their starters all play 40 minutes

7. It's a good thing they got their title when they did; they won't have a shot for a long, long time.
Unless Boston pulls off some amazing trade, this season is all about whether LA stays healthy or not.

LA has been playing horribly offensively, but are still undefeated. Tomorrow night, hopefully scrubs like Fisher and Bynum will step it up.

8. The deep roster and Jackson keeping them rotated will keep them healthy
Limiting minutes also puts the loafers on the spot for getting their part done sooner. Instead of them waiting around for the moment they now have to go find their place to make it happen.
