The Detroit Thanksgiving game has got to end.
Look---I dig tradition, I really do. But damn--- at least make a good football team part of the tradition.

1. As long as we're changing Thanksgiving football...
Make the third game available to everyone - over the air or at least on ESPN. Actually, the best solution would be for the NFL and cable companies agree to put the NFL Network on digital cable.

I'm not even watching the Detroit game. The Lions don't even look competitive.

3. Sorry, but Dallas isn't going anywhere on Thanksgiving.
Polarizing teams draw audience, which means $$$.

5. Then watch the game and enjoy seeing the Cowboys get whipped
It doesn't matter who they Cowboys are playing. Whoever it is, for three hours they are my favorite team.

6. Who said I was a fan of theirs?
But thanks for making my point. People either want to watch them win or lose, but they want to watch. Same reason the Yankees and Lakers are on TV all the time.

7. We should be pardoning Lions instead of Turkeys.
The Lions almost always have just as bad a day.

9. I can remember one worse Detroit Turkey Day game
In 1968 the Eagles came into the game without a win at 0-11. The beat Detroit 12-0 in a mud bowl. The game was completely forgettable except for being an abysmal display of offensive futility. I think that was the last year for Joe Kuharich.
