Meme to the Big 12, SEC and PAC 10 from the Big Ten.
Give us a call when you can play some defense. You're not even fun to watch.

2. Meme to the SEC ...when will you guys call off the dogs....
...when you are up by 30? Why does the SEC live for "style points" by running up the scores against hapless victims by leaving their starters in even when the game is a done deal. For example, UF rolling up 70 against Citadel. Really, 70 against fucking Citadel? I hope your viagara works you douchbags. Oh, by the way, you all (notice spelling) can stop doing flips into the end zone and stop doing a dance after every tackle, in any other league that is a unsportsmanlike penalty.

3. Not sure why you include the SEC in your list. They are the top conference in defense.
For the latest NCAA stats (through 11-22-08, and won't be updated till later today), the SEC has 6 teams in the top 25 in scoring defense and 5 teams in total defense. Big 10 has 4 and 3 in those categories, respectively.
You won't return to relevance by whining about other conferences' styles of play. Especially when that whining isn't founded in reality.

7. Had the nephews up from GA for Thanksgiving, BOSS
After dinner on Thursday we turned off the Cowboys debacle and stumbled on a replay of the Iowa- Penn St. classic a couple weeks back on the Big Ten Network. The boys were enthralled. I said, lets find something on the SEC Network but couldn't find it on my dish. Was the network off for the day???

8. Meme to the Big Ten from all the real major conferences
give us a call, when you play some offense. In fact, give us a call when you become more than just an over hyped mid range conference that regularly gets humiliated in BCS Championship games.

11. The bottom line is this, Upton.
No matter how many BCS football games you win, the SEC will always be America's second best conference. That's why we have our own network and you don't. Give me a hollar when you do. Then you might get equal billing with the Big Ten. The truth hurts, don't it?

19. Oh, I see
so in your world quality of play is judged by which conference has it's own network....that's rather odd. For me, I prefer to let the play on the field do the talking...and in that area the Big Ten is sorely lacking.

The Big Ten has lost respect nationally, they want that respect back that they once commanded...they're going to have to earn it on the field. At least college football fans can be thankful for one thing....no undeserving Big Ten team in the BCS Championship game this year.

21. I tried to explain it to you last week , Upton.
Things run in cycles. Give it a year or two. Wow. Look at the time. I'd love to stay and chat but my local network is running a marathon of PeeWee Herman films. Gotta run!

29. In the last 26 SEC vs. Big 10 bowl games the record between the two is 13-13.
Even as a Buckeye, I will readily admit that OSU was not up to the task last year. Remember, its the BCS, not the Buckeyes that are putting them in the games. If either USC, OU, or the rest of the teams had just won out versus losing at the last minute, the Buckeyes would have never had gone because they had no more games to play.

9. Meme to Mack Brown...
I watched the OU/OSU game in a bar last night. I didn't get to hear what you said. I sat next to a guy who was a TX fan...he swore you wouldn't do something so lame as to call in to pitch your team...I couldn't hear, on account of the futbol game on and I was in Mexico.

But alas, you WERE as classless as I suggested to Mr. TX fan at the bar.

End threadjack.

10. WTF?
What does this have to do with the original post?

And, BTW, I heard Mack Brown's call in. All he said that it was going to be difficult to explain to his players how OU would win the South since they beat them. And he said there would be a meeting to revise the tie breaker rules. He also said all three teams were great. At no time did he say that the Longhorns deserve to be champs. Brown has class, as does Stoops.

20. College, El, college.
That's right. The University of Iowa. 2 words you'll never hear in the same sentence. Class and the SEC. Look it the Big Ten's coaches and the SEC's. Except for that asshole Zook(and we know where he cut his teeth) and Rodriguez, pure class. I've never heard Spurrier, Miles, Richt and the bunch mentioned as classy gents. Have you?

Did Stoops call on Thursday to plead the Sooners case?
Did Leach?

No.
Lame.

This coming a week after Brown said he wouldn't politick.

Not surprisingly ABC had to once again prove what a bunch of a-holes they really are.

31. Mack was lobbying on ESPN during the Tech-Baylor game
He went on for like 10 minutes talking on that show. Pretty lame.

And pretty lame for Oklahoma to lose points in the two human polls after beating a ranked opponent away while Texas beat a team with losing record at home!

He said he didn't want to get pulled into the lobbying routine. Gotta respect him for that, I think. :)

28. I'll give you an analogy, Captive, to close out Thanksgiving.
My brother-in-law and I were playing the nephews in a "friendly" Turkey day touch football game. Now the youngsters are growing up in SEC land. All they could talk about was juking, how fast they could run and poses for the endzone. My BIL grew up in Ohio. I grew up in Michigan and Pennsylvania. All we could talk about was resisting the urge to knock the living shit out of them as they came across the middle. In essence, the Big Ten vs. the SEC.

32. Amen Condem. I grew up in Illinois and moved to Ohio as an adult.
I have been very fortunate to be around a lot of college football fans in Ohio and even if our Big 10 team doesn't win, we root for the Big 10 teams in the bowl games. I even (don't tell anybody) cheered for Michigan when they beat Florida last year. Our conference is down this year overall, but there are some teams making a comeback (NU and Minn), which is good to see.

Getting back to your point, I do like smash-mouth football. I think it is also the default "setting" for winter football. You can't do fun and gun football in driving sleet or on an icy field. I would love to see the SEC play in Madison in November-January.
