"It belongs to Barry"
That is Hank Aaron's response to Bud Selig's ridiculous suggestion of possibly returning the HR record to him.

No matter what the haters may say....Aaron knows the record know belongs to Barry Bonds. You tell 'em Hank.

"In all fairness to everybody, I just don't see how you really can do a thing like that and just say somebody isn't the record holder anymore, and let's go back to the way that it was," Aaron told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Friday.

Commissioner Bud Selig has indicated that he's given some thought to returning the record to Aaron if it is proved Bonds used steroids.

"If you did that, you'd have to go back and change all kinds of records, and the (home run) record was very important to me," Aaron said. "It's probably the most hallowed record out there, as far as I'm concerned, but it's now in the hands of somebody else. It belongs to Barry.

1. You can't erase the record.
But everyone knows he didn't get it legitimately. As far as I'm concerned Aaron is the Home Run King and Maris still holds the single season record.

21. Actually, madinmaryland, who should really be called
"SADinmaryland", because he's so sad that everyone is always handing him his ass on a platter arguing sports, calls upton by my name because he can't imagine there are two living people who agree Barry Bonds has received a disproportionate amount of scorn in the baseball world.

Therefore he calls upton my sockpuppet.

But upton and I ignore so very sadinmaryland.

I'm only explaining it to you because you asked and I know you.

When you have "two" posters that post nearly word-for-word posts, it really makes you wonder. Try it, and you will come to the conclusion a lot of others here in this forum have.

3. I don't understand what everybody is bitching about with this...
Everybody used roids back then therefore the playing field was NOT uneven therefore Bonds' record is good.

Sure he was juiced - but so were the pitchers. No net gain.

Bonds does hold the record. That's just a fact. A-Rod may pass that, if he stays employed and healthy. At which point, Aaron would be #3.

33. I don't even know where to begin with that kind of hypocrisy.
First - Barry has positive steroid tests going back http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3112982">as far as 2000. Whether he thought he was taking flaxseed oil or whatever non-steroid thing he was taking is not nearly the unquestionable fact you constantly assert it to be, but a question for a jury to decide since it's the crux of his perjury case.

Second - for you to rip Alex Rodriguez for testing positive for steroids, and defend Barry Bonds for testing positive for steroids, is absurd beyond belief.

Third - you need to make sure you're criticizing who you think you're criticizing. I've never advocated for anybody to be removed from any record book for steroid use.

A-Fraud has admitted to lying and using steroids....Bonds has claimed all along that he didn't knowingly use. Everyone can have their suspicions but until something is proved, Barry deserves the benefit of the doubt.

And your proof is a government indictment. <insert price is right loser horn>

That's not an allegation, that's evidence used to support an allegation. If he wants to make the case that he didn't take the steroids knowingly, that's one thing. But even he isn't saying he never took them, that's another.

I don't remember you coming out and saying..well we better wait and see about A-Rod.After all the evidence comes from the same questionable source. Nope..as soon as it came out. You said look he's a liar! And he did steroids!
Stop being such a hypocrite. There is as much evidence that A-Rod took steroids as Barry Bonds did. Yet you didn't bother even trying to wait on A-Rod's confession before judging him. AND you refuse to admit that Bonds HAS admitted to taking steroids.
Sorry but your hypocrisy about Barry Bonds is pretty nauseating. For anybody else you NEVER bother with the innocent until proven guilty. With Bonds, I will bet even if he's found guilty and admits it you will just scream CONSPIRACY!

(A-Rod) admitted he's guilty and even apologized (all of which is true) .. but wait, don't rush to judgement.

What kind of sense does that make?

And I never said A-Rod is a liar. I said he has admitted to using.

Once again, I'm misquoted in the sports forum.

15. sorry... but any of those who used roids shamed the game & it is quite insignificant in the sports
world. Football has taken over as the main interest of all my buds who used to pay full attention to baseball. Also, I don't pay 1/4 the attention to baseball I used to, because they cheated in a very egregious manner and have stained it indefinitely.

Hank shows why the title is really his, by being so noble, and just say the meaningless title is Barry's.
