49ers: no way to Vick
That should put and end to the speculation...The Niners, unlike the Cowgirls, are not the kind of organization to sign felons. Nor are they, unlike the Dolphins, interested in signing animal abusers.

A team spokesman made it clear on Tuesday night that there is no way the 49ers will bring in Vick

1. I'm proud of them, Upton.
No team should. I'm betting the Raiders.

2. Yeah....I have to admit
I was somewhat taken aback when I first heard about the possibility of the Niners bringing in Vick. I'm both relieved and happy that they've chosen to do the right thing.

4. M'eh!
Someone will hire him. I don't think he should be banned for life, despite the fact that i'm a doting pet lover.

However, he won't be a starting QB when he comes back. Aside from his speed, he wasn't really that good a QB when he got sent up the river. He was a minor knee injury from being a non-threat as a runner, and he was never much a reader of defenses. Missing two years is not a good way to get better at the most glaring weakness in one's game.

My guess is someone will bring him back and try to make an H-back or D-back out of him.

14. In my opinion any NFL team that signed Vick would be foolish
he is too risky to sign as a starter and he brings too much distraction and baggage to be a good backup. I am sure some team will eventually become so desperate as to take this foolish risk, but no team impresses me as being particularly honorable, if they pass on him. It's a matter of self interest, pure and simple.

15. Good
As a Falcon fan, I can tell you Atlanta would have been no better than 8-8 with Vick at QB. Back when they let Schaub go to the Texans, the first thing I said was, "They traded the wrong guy". The Falcons SHOULD have traded Vick for a #1 wideout AND OL (blindside) help.

He was the type of QB that was fast, had an extremely strong (but not accurate) arm, and would throw to Alge Crumpler even if he were triple teamed for a 4 yard gain while his wideouts were wide open playing tiddlywinks in the endzone.

Matt Ryan is da man now and the Falcons are much better for it.
