I don't know where he thinks he's going to get a better deal than that.

1. He's not going to get a better deal, and he knows it.
He just hates Spring Training, and he's trying to find a good excuse to get out of most of it. That's my guess, anyway. He'll sign around the middle of the month, spend the last week getting himself ready to play, and he'll be just fine by Opening Day.

3. One thing the Red Sox didn't have to do this spring...
No excuses for why Manny was late to training. Love it! :)

4. I'm not a huge McCourt fan...
...but I liked this part:

"We want Manny back, but we feel we are negotiating against ourselves," Dodgers owner Frank McCourt said in a statement. "When his agent finds those 'serious offers' from other clubs, we'll be happy to restart the negotiations."

5. The serious offers are in Scott's head
There is bound to be a serious offer from Ford Prefect, right?

7. Manny is saying no because he's a lazy SOB...he just doesn't want to sign now
and have to go to spring training...give him a week or two...then he'll take the offer and LA MIGHT realize what a headcase they have.
