7. If any team should forfeit the season, it should be the horrid Pirates. |
|
Friday night, Pittsburgh drew an embarrassing 15,659 against Atlanta. If it had been a Tuesday night, it would have probably have been less than 10,000
The Giants, on the other hand, coming off a disastrous 0-6 road trip drew more than twice as many ... 34,898 against Arizona, which is actually a small Friday night crowd for us. Not to mention and it was 15 degrees cooler in San Francisco. 54 at game time compared to 69 in Pittsburgh.
You tell me what the point is of the Pirates even bothering to show up.
Oh that's right, because they have an all-time losing record to concentrate on this season.
But at least they make **money. :eyes:
**I don't believe it.

One reason they aren't good is that they've got no payroll, thus no star players. In that market, they draw enough over the year, and have good enough deals in local media, plus the share of the MLB money, that they easily make a profit.
You say you don't believe it, but i don't think you really thought things through. GAC

12. What's your excuse for today? |
|
On Saturday, no Penguins hockey game...the Pirates drew 20,755.
The Giants had 37,409.
The problem with the attendance at PNC Park is that nobody wants to go see a Pirate lineup full of triple A players.
