Let's Go Wings! 4-2 in the third period! Yeah, the Lions suck, but otherwise we are there.

Been following the Wings well before Joe Louis Arena. They were terrible for a couple decades. Not anymore.

Here comes another cup, courtesy of Lord Stanley.

1. Great game by the Wings. Good effort but bad strategy by the Hawks.

Trying to use speed and just outchance the Redwings, you'll just dig your grave. Their forwards need to play defense and limit skating room, concentrate on back checking, and limit odd man rushes. I guess they will learn their lesson.

2. Cup race over. Woman was pregnant for the last 3 Wings' Stanley Cup runs. Guess what. ...
Yup, she's preggers again now. Youngest kid is named Stanley.

3. So much more entertaining than the Anaheim series
Nice to be able to skate down the length of the rink without getting clutched and grabbed the whole time.

4. Sure
we wouldn't want to challenge those precious Red Wings with a little bit of physical play, now would we?

5. I don't mind physical play, though I love seeing a faster-paced game than Anaheim provides
but Anaheim plays dirty. Physical and dirty are not the same.

Pronger's always been an asshole. I remember years ago when he was playing for St. Louis, he decided to go after Stevie Y. and take him out - no reason for it, just because that's how he plays, even though he doesn't need to. Stevie saw him coming and just made a beautiful move to get out of his way - when Pronger missed Stevie, he hurt HIMSELF. It took him out of the game (I think it was in a playoff game, too and that he was out for the series). And then the clincher, he got MAD at Stevie Y. for it! That's just what they were like this time around - especially Niedermayer - he kept punching players behind the ref's back - cold cocked a few guys, basically, and then had the nerve to say that the Wings were the problem. They were like that in 2007, too. Inflict injuries on purpose, then whine that the other team was more physical.

I was really glad to see the last of them - it was to the point where if they'd been in against Carolina, I would have had to root for Carolina, and I don't like them either. In fact, I don't even know if I could have watched the Ducks in another series. Whereas if Chicago gets through, I can very easily root for them.
