Suppose that a student essay may contain an unlimited number of spelling errors...
and that the penalty for spelling errors will always be exactly two percent. Of course, if there are no spelling errors in the essay, then there will be a penalty of zero percent (i.e. no penalty) for spelling errors.

For example, if an essay's initially mark is seventy-five out of a maximum possible mark of one hundred and there are five spelling errors in the essay then, after the spelling penalty is applied, the mark will be seventy-three. In this situation, would you completely agree with the claim "spelling errors are forbidden" or would you say that the claim misuses the word "forbidden"?

10. Is there anyone who actually could not read 4MoronicYears' post?
I love cryptograms, and I do mean I love them. I think reading things like your post, 4MoronicYears, is very relaxing.

P.S. This post was spellchecked.

6. No kidding. When my son was in the 8th grade I watched over
his shoulder at a homework assignment and I quickly realized that at least fifty percent of the answers were wrong. I got on him about it and said "you have to redo the paper and get it right". This started a HUGE fight and he said "it doesn't matter if every one is wrong. I'll get the same grade as long as I turn it in". I got VERY indignant and told him that was ridiculous and promised to prove it to me. Three days later the paper came back with a check and an "A" on it.

And we wonder why our kids can't read. Arrrrrrrgh

5. What amazes me is that any child is allowed to have unlimited spelling
errors with only a 2 percent penalty. When I was at school it meant a failing grade, period.
