Give me all the facts on Obama's education platform. |
|
I go to a very conservative place in the internet( the "Politics" section of Yahoo Answers). It seems almost everyone there denounces him as a "radical." I'm not very supportive of Obama myself but I think that notion is just ridiculous.I want to explain how our President is actually a moderate, so I want to put out his education platform as an example. There are many criticisms here of the recent going-ons regarding education, and it seems to be due to how right-wing the Obama administration has been regarding the issue.Could you make the case as to how moderate Obama's education platform is ?

He is completely aligned with the GOP on this issue and even to the right of the GOP, from supporting NCLB, to supporting charters, to trying to gut teacher protections via RTTT, to appointing a total dipshit as secretary of education who shares the same anti-public education philosophy.

3. Obama's education platform is quite radical |
|
it calls for the privatization of education. Under his plan, there will be no accountability and the teaching profession will be destroyed in favor of a AmeriCorps 2-year committment thing.

4. He's for "accountability". |
|
He's for "reform".
He's for "data-driven instruction". (Sounds pretty scientific... no?)
He's for "pay incentives" for teachers. ( They'll work harder if they think they'll get a $$$ bonus for so doing. Otherwise they'll just slug around at 2/3 speed.)
He's for people "reaching outside their comfort zones."
He's for tying job security for teachers to high test scores.
