A friend forwarded this link to me. There is a local teacher spending 9 weeks in Antartica and blogging at this site. Students can communicate with their teachers who are in Antartica.

(Pun intended?) I read the book by Dr Jerri Nielson "Ice Bound" about her stay in Antarctica. She's the doctor who self-diagnosed her own breast cancer during the winter. The crew at the station actually helped with her treatment until the weather allowed her to be evacuated. She died last year at age 57 from a recurrence.
