... test scores tied to tenure. Likely consequences:
1.Kids will have instantly "improved".
2. Parents/citizens who rarely read past the first paragraph of anything will be impressed by #1.
3. Know-nothing politicians will reap the harvest of #2.
4. Pesky unions and work rules will take another whack and lotsa $$$ wasted on education can be frittered away on more important things... like war, consultants, bureaucracy, etc. All the things we like so much and as a society truly value.

Education is not a priority down here in the slightest. The number of people who can't read, read poorly, or have reading deficiencies is astounding.
