Florida should be ashamed.
OK, so the powers that be hire me to build them a wall. My pay for completing the wall is based on how strong that wall is when it’s done. My thought is, “Great, I’ll build a brick wall and have a large paycheck to show for my efforts.” The PTB say, “Have at it girl….but one thing…you can’t just use bricks. You have to use all this other stuff…mostly recycled…whatever you find lying around…straw, egg cartons, cardboard, a few bricks, a couple of pebbles. ..you get the idea. Now start building.” Well, needless to say, the completed wall isn’t going to be as strong as it could be if I had control over what materials I use. The end result is out of my hands. I can only do so much with what I’ve got.

We’ve all been there, done that. Public educators are compelled to teach whomever walks through their doorways, regardless of and more likely, in spite of, the damage so many of our children have. Most people who have never been in the classroom as teachers (not just as spectators, room mothers, etc.), cannot understand the great responsibilities that we shoulder, and yet we come back year after year determined to build the strongest wall that we can. How sad that the state of Florida is letting those who have neither the skill nor the desire to teach make decisions about those of us who do. My retirement 10 years ago from this great profession came none too soon. I’m so sorry for those teacher who are still there, but mostly, I’m sorry for the children. Florida should be ashamed.

Stop SB6
:grr:

1. Are you saying the state house passed the draconian teacher "tenure" law?
I know they were debating it tonight.

6. Florida should be ashamed.. this is more than a slap in the face to teachers...
This is a Bankster attempt to gain control of the cash in the school systems.

Teachers are already over-worked, under paid, spending their own money to provide supplies in the classroom..

So what are the Bankster/Gangsters going to do? They are going to persecute the very teachers who are working day and night to hold this putrid system together....

Is anyone awake in Washington, D.C.? No.. of course not...

8. They Should Call This What It Is,
no euphamisms either. They ought to come right out and say it. "We are busting unions in Florida." Stealing elections isn't enough. we want MORE, MORE, MORE!
