Upsurge in Teacher Flight from Profession Explained
Well, here's another spoof. Somehow it helps me cope to create some humor out of what is taking place in education. I guess I'm becoming warped!!! If these spoofs are not enjoyed or are offensive, just let me know and I'll refrain from posting them anymore on DU and post them only on my blog http://aplacetorespond.blogspot.com/

PRESS RELEASE

The stress of high-stakes testing appears to be taking its toll on the nation's public school teachers, as evidenced by yet another study coming right on the heels of a study showing a strong link between the hours men teachers spend leading students in test prep activities and lowered sperm quality.

Scientists studying the effects of inordinate amounts of stress on the human body have identified a strong correlation between the practice of high-stakes testing and excessive hair loss in men teachers. It has long been known that excessive amounts of stress can cause hair loss and balding.

What has astonished the scientists conducting the study, however, is the finding of a peculiar inverse relationship for women teachers -- the growth of unwanted facial hair.

The severity of the respective problems for men and women teachers corresponds directly to the amount of time they spend on high-stakes testing related activities in the classroom.

The phenomena are believed to be caused by an overflow of stress hormones and what have you. In the case of men, the hormonal overflow traumatizes the sebaceous glands or something like that. In the case of women, further studies or whatever are needed.
