International Baccalaureate for the elementary years Update
Edited on Thu Mar-27-08 11:03 PM by ChazII
We have been officially declared an IB Candidate school. Today we received our passwords and user names so that we can start 'talking' with other IB schools. We are almost finished with our first unit that has to be taught before this year ends.

Edited for speeling.:D

My little sister taught Music (Orf-Kodaly methodology) at an IB school in Colorado Springs until she retired. They were absolutely serious about Discovery Education and Authentic Evaluation. I taught conventional private and public schools and was always jealous of her.

Enjoy!

2. My daughter attended an IB high-school program, and received her baccalaureate
It's a wonderful curriculum and program.

I'm not aware of an elementary school component ... but good luck with it! It takes a lot of dedication from teachers, students, and even parents ... but the results are well worth it.

6. For those would like to learn more about IB
for the primary years here is the official IB site: www.ibo.org/pyp/

While we have received our usernames and passwords, there is one more hurdle. There apparently is a question that when we log in, we all have to have the same answer. No clue what that particular question might be but all of us must answer it the same, This is so frustrating. There are several schools that I would love to say, "Hi" and then ask them if my team is on the right track. For those who are familiar with the process, we also have not been assigned our mentor teacher. (or whatever the exact title is called)

7. Newspaper story about IB and
my school. This appeared recently in our local paper after we were named a candidate school.

8. LOL Interesting comment following that article:
IB is controlled by Communist UN bureaucrats. Is this who you want controlling your child's education?

Read about why our schools are being used to transform this country into a subject of world government here:
