I was riffed today, maybe |

Wow. I wasn't expecting it at all. It's just a matter of seniority. There's a 90% chance another teacher in my department is leaving so that's why I say "maybe." I'll know for sure next week.
Meanwhile....damn. I hate looking for jobs -- especially since several districts around here are also riffing. OTOH, I'm hearing how math and science teachers are in demand. Talk about mixed messages!

I'm numb. I'm not sure whether I'm in denial or shock or being realistic about the aforementioned teacher leaving. His wife is being transferred to another state for a terrific opportunity so, assuming all goes well with her situation, he's gone. Still...

My coworker's wife needs to pass her class which is a no-brainer. It will happen. But.... until he submits his letter of resignation, I'm in limbo.
I haven't applied anywhere else because I'm certain it will come through. But I wonder if I'm being foolish for at least not getting my name out there.
PS -- Thanks for asking, BTW.
