Log Cabin Republicans
I just finished watching a show about the Log Cabin Republicans and the split which occurred this election. It was on the TRIO channel for those interested, 9pm AZ time.

Anyway, I am curious if anyone here has had any experience with this group. I was floored listening to gays and lesbians talking about bringing republican values to the gay community, or how the Chimp was correct in opposing gay marriage.

Seems this group is all about money and furthering their own selfish pocketbooks above all else. Amazing how people can be blinded by their own greed. :evilfrown:

1. Yup.
All gay Republicans I've ever met are more than willing to trade their human dignity in for a few extra bucks. It's lower than prostitution.

2. I suspect some of them are pathological in nature.
They like being outcasts from society and get a kick out of it. Also I suspect some want to keep the oppression because deep down inside they know if they really are equal, they can no longer hide behind it as an excuse for their own shortcomings.

3. I couldn't stand that guy from Florida...
who was all "I'm supporting Bush no matter what...blah blah blah..."

He seemed so greedy, selfish, and insensitive in his little world of fancy cars, money without actually working for it, and fancy clothes. :grr:

4. I wonder how many of the LCRs realize...
...that there are many among their chosen party who would outlaw all homosexual behavior, take away their children, and cart these folks off to "re-orientation camps".

6. Hold on a minute, guys.
Let's be fair here. (And no, I am not a Republican, but I do believe in the truth). The Log Cabin Republicans WITHHELD their support for W* because of the constitutional amendment. They are actually with us on that issue. Their purpose is to bring more moderate Republicans into the Senate. If you don't believe me, check out their website at www.logcabin.org and see it for yourself.

They are actually right on the money about gay rights. We are too focused on fighting anti-gay legislation, when we should simultaneously put out our own pro-gay, pro-equality legislation. Why not put civil unions or civil marriage on your state's ballot? That way, should it pass (and it most likely will, as most Americans actually support civil unions), W&Company cannot blame it on so-called "activist judges." That way, should they talk against the American people, their true bigoted colors will resonate. At the same time, we have to make small but significant changes, like repealing Don't Ask, gaining equal rights in our companies, and even doing something as simple as coming out to our families and friends.

Yes, I disagree with them on everything else, but when it comes to the gay issue, I think we can actually work with them (GASP!) to bring some positive change.

11. CIVIL MARRIAGE ON THE BALLOT?
Do you know of any states that are seeking this type of referendum on 2006 ballots? Please email me directly, if you can.

8. The Republican party isn't just the Christian party....
It's also the right winged party; the one for less taxes.

I think more gays, blacks, and other minorities would be willing to vote Republican if they'd stop threatening to take away their rights.

One day, the Republican Party as we know it will be gone. They'll still technically exist, but they won't be threatening gay rights and other rights anymore. They'll just be the "less taxes" party. We'll have to do what we can to promote the idea that less taxes are a bad idea for the economy. In the end, we'll all end up in the center balancing things out. They'll make sure we don't tax so much that it keeps people from spending and contributing to the economy. We'll make sure people have health insurance and other social programs that are basic human rights.

I just wish I could be alive for that day.
